A. J. Mowatt united in marriage Brenda Elaine, daughter ,of Mr. and Mrs. Hector Kingswell, Clinton and Larry Bertram, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Scott, RR 1, $eatorth. Mr. Lorne Dotterer was the organist and accompanied the soloist, Mr. William Craig, Clinton, who sang "0 Perfect Love" and r "The Lord's Prayer". The bride's gown of tradit- ional white princess organza over taffeta featured rows of Shirred lace down the front and back, trimmed with tiny white boWs. _0„ther highlights of the gown were a high Victorian neckline tuid--a — small train a t the back. Her chapel length veil,. edged with Moderia lace, was held by a headdress of small white roses. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow roses, white and yellow shasta daisies intermixed with loft fern. The matron of honour was Mrs. Robert Shaddick of Londes- boro. She wore an Empire styled dress of mint green chiffon with long full sleeves trimmed with guipure lade. She wore a small headpiece of white and yellow shasta daisies and carried a bouquet of the same. The flower girl, , Miss Lynn Mcllwain, Stratford, cousin of the bride, wore a dress styled similarly to those of the other attendants. Ferg Quinn of Halifax, N.S. was the groomsman. Ushers were Donald Meehan, Sarnia, Laverne Scott, Seaforth, brother of the groom and Elwin Kingswell, Clinton, brother of the bride. Billy Garrick, Seaforth, nephew of .the groom, was ring- bearer. The wedding reception was held in the Clintpn Legion hall where the bride's mother received the guests in a pink coat and dress ensemble -with a mauve—orchid corsage. The groom's mother assisted wearing a purple lace dress-with a sheer overcoat and an orchid corsage. For travelling to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania the bride wore a light blue crimpknit pantsuit with matching beige accessories and a corsage of "pink roses. The newlyweds are 'residing in London. Among those at the wedding were guests. from Clinton, Sea- forth, Goderich, Toronto, Brant- ford,, Woodstock, Trenton, Belle- ville, Norwood, Brighton, Hali- fax and Sarnia. • el - QUINN maid and wore turquoise chiffon over taffeta with matching hat and a basket of mixed-daisies.- Mr. John Gillard was grooms- man and Richard Rankin was the usher. The wedding dinner and reception were held in the Cen- tennial Lounge at Wolseley Bar- racks and Mr. John Quinn acted as master of ceremonies. The bride's sister, Mrs. , Aubrey Baler received the guests wearing a yellow crimplene dress with mauve accessories and a corsage of white shasta daisies. The groom's mother assisted, 'wearing a blue coat and dress ensemble with white accessories and a, corsage of white shasta daisies. After a short' honeymoon the young couple will reside in Lon- don until September when they will move to Edmonton, Alta. At that time the school was composed of students in Grades 11, 12 and 13. It made it rough on the other-secondary schools that fed CCI, since it drained the older students, leav- ing them with very little chance of good athletic competition with Ss school. For CCI, however, it meant a gooeshowing against the huge schools in Windsor (Walkerville) and London (MB. Beal Technical) and elsewhere. Mr. Carpenter's years as a are, now being taught - with some additions and deletions - at CKSS. He remained at CVS until -1943. He then joined the Kent Regiment. He was subse-, quently transferred out west, and then'overseas with the Can- adian Infantry. Returning a Cap- tain, Mr. Carpenter retired from the regular army in 1946. He did keep a.militia rank. He was taken back' into. the Chatham Board of Education, system, although this time at Chatham Collegiate Insitute, the long-time rival of CVS.
