Dairy Day
Plans are well underway for
the 1971 Dairy Day set for Tues-
day, June 1st, at Centralia Col-
lege of Agricultural Technology,
Huron Park, Ontario.'
Dairying is an important farm
operation in the area served by
the Dairy Committee who spon-
sors the Dairy Day program.
Almost 30% of the province's
dairy cows are found in the 9
counties of Bruce, Huron, Perth,
Lambton, Middlesee, Oxford,
Essex, Kent 'and • Elgin. OCer
400 dairy farmers attended the
1970 program.
At the Annual Meeting of the
Western Ontario Dairy Commit-
tee held in London, the 1971 '

Well known former resident 'of
Seaforth who died in Wallace-
bnrg sorest months ago was
remembered at a recent meet-
ing .of Rotary. in that town.

The seventh meeting of the
Brucefield 2 Hoppin Bobbins met
Tuesday DA ,Mrs. George Cant-
elon's. Roll call was ',One thing
I learned from taking this pro
ject". Demonstration and group-
work included two ways of hem-
ming.
The next,,.-meeting is to be
held at the home of Karen Whit-
more next Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Abel
of Wallaceburg on a recent trip
to Israel planted two trees in
tribute to Mr. Cudmore. The
trees are located In the Canada
Friendship Forest.
Mr. Abel told Rotarians that
his thoughts turned to Mr. Cud-
more and his long hours of work
for a better understanding
between races While he watched
trees being planted In Israel.
Mr. Cudinere was a member of
the Canadian Council of Christ-
ians and Jews and gave many
years of service in Rotary to
Brotherhood work.

as a guest watched their mother,
Mrs. Cecil Pepper be enrolled

AMBER REBEKAH LODGE
. Amber Rebekah Lodge meet-
ing Wednesday was presided over
by Noble Grand Mrs. Jack Taylor,
assisted by Vice-Grand Mrs.
Elizabeth Riley. The Charter was
draped in memory of Mrs. Leona
Clifton, Mrs. Inez McEwen
reported visits together with
Mrs. Leona Parke to Queensway
Nursing Home with small treats
given td each patient. Two car-
loads attended the meeting of
Seaforth Lodge on the occasion
of the visit of the D.D.P. and a
carload.attended the dessert
euchre at Goderich.
The annual meeting of Kippen
East Women's Institute was held
in the Legion Hall, Hensall.
Reports of the Standing Com-
mittees 'indicated the meetings
had been educational as well as
humourous and included skits,
demonstrations, readings, a
debate, films and guest speakers.
Friends of the members were
guests at one meeting and Senior
Citizens, special • guests at
another meeting.
. The Institute sponsored four
4-H girls clubs during the year.
Donations were made to the
Children's Aid Society, Retarded
Chidren, Mental Health and
Bunny Bundle, also a burned
out family. The W.I. had a picnic,
entertained the families to a
turkey banquet, also entertained
the Senior Citizens at Huron-
view to a birthday party. Hi-
lights included a bus trip to
Frankenmirth, an every mem-
ber program, roll call contest
which ended with a dinner at
Zurich and games and cards.
