Scrabuik opened the meeting with
the members prayer. Roll' call
was answered by naming musical
instruments found in the Bible.
Mrs: Scrabuik reported the pur-
chase of an electric range and
conveners wer e appointed for
the Smorgasbord on May 8th.
Mrs. Andgrson took the topic
Being Sent". Mrs. Scrabuik read
devotions from Living Message.

ing with prayer.

Change. Mrs. Harold Currie led
" the group with a new song from

World• belongs to You". At this
Irvin Trewartha, of Main Street. Seaforth, displays a
gloxinia plant with eight large blessams. The plant at one
time had 21 buds wfiich developed from a single bulb. Three
blossoms have fallen off but' ten 'buds still remain. Mr.
Trewartha said the average gloxinia developsrno more than

The Kippen East W.I. had an
enjoyable time last Wednesday
evening when they had dinner at
the Dominion Hotel, Zurich. The
losing side for the attendance

couple settled on the groom's
farm, Con. 4. Usborne Town-
ship, where they farmed until
they retired in Hensall 1'2 years
ago.

Taxes in Hayfield were cut
by more than '12 mills Tuesday
night.
A rate of 8'7 mills - for • '
residential and farm - was set
for public school supporters.
This represents a reduction of
12.5 mills from 1970. The com-
mercial rate for. public school
supporters will be 93 mills, or
0.5 -mills less than -last year.•
For separate school support-
ers, the -rate will be 86 for
residential and farm, and 92.1
commercial. These figures rep-
resent, respectively, reductions
of 13.5 and 14.4 mills from .15.st
year.
