“I still have lots of family in the North Perth
area,” Mitchell said in an interview with The
Citizen.
Mitchell attended Queens University, where she
studied kinesiology, before heading to Toronto and
CEMC.
The pair moved to Kitchener, but became tired
of the bustle that came with larger city centres like
Toronto and Kitchener and sought out a smaller
town and returning to the Listowel area only made
sense for Mitchell.
Mitchell said that she and Milljour wanted to
share their passion for health and well-being with
the people of Listowel and Brussels, so they
decided to officially make the move.
They said that there is a connection that takes
place in small town settings like Listowel and
Brussels that you don’t get in some of Ontario’s
bigger city centres. Mitchell said that it’s
important to her and Milljour that they get to know
their patients, their families and their lives, so they
can become part of the community.
The two officially opened their new practice on
Sept. 1, taking over for Mason who had performed
his duties in the area for nearly 35 years.
With less than a month of their new jobs under
their belts, they have already reached out to the
community in a number of ways.
Milljour is working with the Listowel Cyclones
hockey team, while Mitchell is working with a
dance team out of Listowel, as well as the Listowel
School of Dance.
Locally, the pair attended a meeting of Brussels
business owners, aimed at bettering the village.
There, they met a number of community leaders
and business people, hearing the issues of the
community and understanding its challenges
before opening their practice.
As far as services they provide, the pair provides
traditional chiropractic therapy, as well as
activation therapy, acupuncture, laser therapy and
ultrasound.

Brussels for Tuesday night, call 519-291-4030 and
be clear that you’re calling to book an appointment
in Brussels.
Two new chiropractors are now plying
their trade in Brussels on Tuesday nights,
following the retirement of Dr. James
Mason.
Doctors Brent Milljour and Kaitlyn
Mitchell will spend most of their days in
Listowel at The Listowel Chiropractic and
Wellness Centre, but they will both be
spending Tuesday evenings between 6-8
p.m. in Brussels serving patients.
Milljour comes to the community by
way of Winnipeg, attending the University
of Manitoba before the Canadian
Memorial Chiropractic College (CEMC)
in Toronto.
It was at CEMC that he met Mitchell,
who has roots in the community, with
family around the Listowel and
Molesworth areas.

Focus on wellness
Dr. Kaitlyn Mitchell and Dr. Brent Milljour have taken over the work of
Dr. Mason who had worked in Brussels for years administering
chiropractic care out of Solace on Turnberry in Brussels. The pair
work mainly in Listowel, but will be spending Tuesday nights in
Brussels. (Photo submitted)
Sharing memories
At the final Duff’s United Church service ever last Sunday, local Neil
McGavin spoke of his decades attending the church, and also
brought comments from the church’s most recent pastor, Rev. Dr.
Peter Kugba-Nyande. (Jim Brown photo)
