Plenty out to enjoy Elementary School Fair
A great day
The Elementary School Fair in Belgrave, which is now in its
95th year, didn’t have the greatest day weather-wise for the
event on Saturday, but those who came made the most out
of it, seeing all there was to see and doing all there was to
do. Clockwise, from top left: Jenny Pearce from
Sciensational Sssnakes was a real hit with the young peo-
ple at the fair, as they weren’t sure if they should be
intrigued or terrified of the snakes; Fair Ambassador Emily
Bieman had her hands full at the event. She had to open
the fair and spend time with organizers, but she also had
some animals to show. She is seen here showing at the
beef show and being judged by Jim Taylor; Former
Maitland River Elementary School Principal Alice
McDowell, left, cuts some cake for Sadie, Tanya and Avery
Toll; Zach, left, and Jeff Walden showed off their award-
winning pumpkins, which were the envy of all who went to
the fair and finally on a rainy, cold Saturday, the fair’s
parade was led by members of the Teeswater Pipe Band,
who didn’t let the wet weather dampen their enthusiasm.
