Brussels Library, Ag. Society partnership succeeds
The past two Saturdays, a new
partnership between the Brussels
Library and the Brussels
Agricultural Society showed great
potential according to those
involved.
Nicole Noble of the Agricultural
Society, who was at the library the
past two Saturdays, said it was great
having young children in the library
to make crafts that could then be
submitted to the Brussels Fall Fair in
a few weeks.
The first move, Noble said, was
made by the library, a representative
of which felt it would be a positive
partnership in the community.
Children from Kindergarten to
Grade 6 were welcomed to the two
craft days, one of which also fea-
tured a helping hand from Brussels
Fall Fair Ambassador Tiffany
Deitner.
Noble says she felt the initiative
worked well for both bodies,
as it brought children into the
library and has increased
participation in the fair.
“I think it’s really a win/win,”
she said.
The Brussels Fall Fair is set for
Sept. 15-16. For more information,

consciousness or life. Actually it
will require an aware consciousness
that believes we have choices and
that those choices do make a differ-
ence in the world. As a Christian I
do look to Jesus as the example of
one who tried to make a heaven on
earth. What made him divine for me
is was his everyday caring, everyday
laughter and everyday respect he
offered to everyone, even the Roman
oppressors.
Can it be that making heaven on
earth is as simple as that? It is some-
thing we all can partake in and all
gain from living it out. Love,
respect, hope, forgiveness and
acceptance, like blood is in us to
give. They are the building blocks of
heaven that are within our power to
use and I have seen them in action.
Heaven after death is going to be
great, but for now my focus, and I
hope yours, is making heaven
on earth.
Heaven can be here
Crafting for the fair
With the Brussels Fall Fair just around the corner, the
Brussels Agricultural Society partnered up with the
Brussels Library to host two craft days at the library. Nicole
Noble of the Society, as well as Brussels Fall Fair
Ambassador Tiffany Deitner had been in attendance to help
children create something they could be proud of that
would be shown off at the fair. Taking advantage of the spe-
cial days are Haley Beuerman, left, and Kaleigh McCallum.
