JARDIN. The Celebration of Life
service for Sarah Ruth Jardin, held
on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Knox
United Church, Auburn was a
beautiful final tribute to our Mother.
For all who attended and all who
offered up a prayer, we thank you.
Each and every one who shared a
hug, a kind word, a memory or a tear
with us helped us through this
difficult time of farewell. Whether
you sent a card or flowers, made a
monetary or food donation, sang in
the choir or simply remembered our
family, please know that your
support sustained us in our loss.
Ruth would have been humbled by
the loving reflections offered by her
son Donald Jardin, daughter-in-law
Nancy Jardin and granddaughter
Kyla Jardin. The musical tributes of
great-granddaughter Kendall Jardin
and granddaughter Melissa Jessop
were “from the heart”. We especially
give thanks to Rev. Terry Fletcher,
Knox United Church, Auburn,
Pastor Perry Chuipka, Trinity
Anglican Church, Blyth, Knox
organist Nancy Park, Knox choir and
the UCW group, Greg Park, Bob
Worsell, Bill and Maxine Seers and
Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton.
Sincerely, Ruth’s family – Donald
and Dorothy Jardin, Lyman and
Carol Jardin, Paul and Crystal
Jardin, Bonnie and Mark Garner,
Harold and Nancy Jardin and
extended family members. 23-1
WILLIAMS. The family of the late
Grant Williams would like to
express their sincere gratitude to all
those who helped us through the
time of Grant’s passing with the
sending of cards, flowers, food and
the sharing of fond memories of a
wonderful husband, father, brother,
Papa, and friend. To Homecare
caregivers Mary Ann and Terrance,
your wonderful attitude, special
care, extra time, sense of humour,
and kind words towards Grant will
always be remembered. Frank
Schimanski, your friendly
professionalism helped to make
those difficult decisions that much
easier. Your special attention to those
family members who needed just a
little extra time with Grant will never
be forgotten. To the Wingham
Salvation Army Majors Arch and
Marie Simmonds and their
congregation, Grant loved to sing at
church and we are pretty sure that
after that Celebration of Life,
Grant’s comments for the day would
be … “Good Show”. Police
Constable Shawn Gwilliam and
Police Constable Greg
Vandekerckhove from Toronto 31
Division, thank you for honouring
Grant’s policing career and
supporting his granddaughter, Police
Constable Meghann Samson, by
attending his Celebration on Life.
He wore his uniform with pride and
would be honoured you were
wearing yours. Grant played a
special role in life, the role of a
grandfather. Thank you to
granddaughters Margaret Speer,
Spencer Williams, and great-
grandsons Ben and James Speer for
their heartfelt tributes to their Papa
on behalf of the family. To the
pallbearers Grant Jarvis, Garrett
Williams, Ryan Williams, Brendan
Stretton, Dave Speer, and Ryan
Samson, thank you. We know it was
a difficult job on an emotional day.
To Mike Ryan, thank you for sharing
how important Grant was to you.
We know you will carry on his faith
while wearing his Salvation Army
uniform with respect. Gerry and
Brenda Wheeler, you are more than
just close friends, you are like
extended family and words can’t
express how grateful we are for all
your help on the day of Grant’s
Memorial. If you have a fond
memory of Grant, please share it
with us. Memories are meant to be
shared if they are to stay alive. To
quote Jean Baptiste Massieu,
“Gratitude is the Memory of the
Heart.” With sincere thanks, Jean
Williams, Mary and Frank Stretton,
Edgar and Angie Williams, Les and
Brenda Williams and families. 23-1
