Miss Monica Byrne for 28 years associated with Dublin Post Office died this week. She was 67. In this picture taken several years ago shortly before her retirement, Miss Byrne, is

Munity Hospital, Tuesday. She
was 67.
Miss Byrne was born in 'Mit-
chell, the daughter of -the late
Wm. Byrne and Kathryn Dev-
ereaux. As a child she! moved
with• her parents to Seaforth
where her father carried on
a livery business for a number
of years. She attended Seaforth
Separate School and following

County Council Friday afternoon
that he was not in favor of paying
county librarian Miss Carolyn
Croke to the end of 1969 since
Miss Croke is now employed
elsewhere.
Miss Croke, who left the
County employ earlier inNovem-
ber after submitting a doctor's
certificate that she must resign
because of her health, is now
working at a lWary in:London.
When the board agreed to pay
her salary until the end of 1969
there was no indication that she
had another job. .
Chairman of the library com-
mittee, Reeve Derry' Boyle,
Exeter, told council it was county
policy to pay an employee until
the end of the year if that em-
ployee left because of health
reasons. He said Miss.0 rokes
present employment had "much
less stress and strain" attached
to it.
Warden -James Hayter said
Miss Croke had '24 days sick
leave coming to her.
"She had a doctor's certific-
ate," he stated. ',Who are we to
argue with that?"

out the area.. There will be open

This arrangement has been set

the highest herd average for
Huron County. The herd received
four awards out of a possible
eight and two honourable men-
tions.
The herd consists of 41 colds
and the record was taken for •
305 days. They .had 15,166 lbs.
of milk and 591 lbs. of fat.
They had the highest 3 year
old with 18,937 lbs. milk and
722 lbs. fat, also the highest 4
year old with 18,890 lbs. milk
and 770 lbs. fat. The highest
aged cow with 19,761 lbs. milk
and 871 lbs. fat. They had a
B.C.A. with 142 lbs. milk and
151 lbs. fat. Congratulations to
the Storeys. '
The Annual Foresters Fam-
ily night was held on Friday
evening with, ,120 in attendance
sitting down to . a ham supper.
After supper the evening was
enjoyed by playing cards with
the following winners: Ladies
high, Mrs. Wayne Dolmage; lone
hands, Mrs. Harvey Taylor; Low
