The Huron Expositor, 1969-11-27, Page 24DECORATED BUTTERY SUGAR COOKIES
Christmastithe baking would not be comalete w.thout those cut-out and decorated rolled cookies.
They offer an exciting opportunity for the ceilciren to share in the tood'preparation for the approach-
ing hOliday season. So bring out the cookie cutters (stars, bells, trees) and even the doughnut cutter
to make the wreaths, Bake the cookies ahead and pass out a few samples. Pack the remainder in
layers with 'wax paper and hide in the freezer until Christmas, According to the home 'economsts
of the Canada Department of Agriculture they will keep beautifully for several months.

Remember too that the big
game hunting fraternity is grow-

which to hunt are not. The older,
organized camp hunters are
therefore coming more into con-
tact with the day' hunters, and
hunters who use their 'summer
cottages as a base for hunting
safaris.
You may test your tolerance
lei/el on some of the.following
incidents that have occurred dur-
ing previous 'deer h'unting
seasons' • These poor hunting
manners do little for the sport:
1. Have a hunter 'without dogs
ask you Where you intend to
start your dogs the next day.
2. After your dogs have started
a good chase, have a dogless
character drop the deer chased
by your dogs in front of your
eyes, and resent you saying
a single thing about it.'
3. After getting 'permission to
erect a hunt camp, builds it

beyond.
4. Find strange hunters occupying
watch areas that your camp

5. Find that a strange gang of
' hunters with a trailer parked
in the middle of the road 'is
blocking passage beyond to

CHRISTMAS
GIFTS OF COOKIES AT
Hospitality is a very large
part of, Christmas and ape of
.the friendliest' gestures one can
make is to share the good'things
from the kitchen with all who
come into the house. The giving
of food as gifts to shut-ins or
busy friends is- also very much
appreciated at this time of year.
Cookies,• both plain and de-
corated, are easy to package
and are very attractive in de-
corated boxes, bowls and other
containers. When sending coo-
kies a long distance, wrap them
individually in altiminum foil or
waxed paper. This will keep them
fresher longer and will also keep
them from breaking.
