Mitchell has had fifteen
building permits issued in Mit-
chell this year. All the houses
are single family dwellings and
are completed of under con-
struction. Seven. of above are
buildings on lots in subdivision
plans that have been approved
this year. Each home has an
estimated value of an average ,
of $20, 000. ,Thirteen of these
homes are built in the North
Ward of the town, one on Georg-
ina Street and one on St. David
Street in the South Ward.
In 1968 thirteen new homes
Were built and five .town houses,
10 apartments were built by
the Ontario Mortgage and Hous-
ing Corporation in the South
Ward, Mitchell, and three
apartments were reconstructed
on St. Andrews Street and are
all occupied.

people, come" was sung. Mrs.

ed the guest speaker, Rev. Mr.
Heckendorn of Londesboro United
Church who spoke on the theme
"Reconciliation in a broken
world" This starts in our own
homes, he said and it is also
needed in the field of broken
-homes, the racial, problems,
strikes,...nationalism and poverty.
The need is reconciliation and
is a job for the U. C. W. Mrs.

from -thirteen churches and
twenty Mitchell ladies present.
Mrs. R. N. Bissonnette, Sebring-
yille, an interesting re-
port of the DOminion Armual,
held recently in Hamilton when
she was a delegate. The ladies
decided to hold their annual
"Quiet Day " around the middle
of March in the Lenten season
with Rev. T. Lewis of Conestoga
as guest speaker, date and place
to be set by the executive. Mrs.
H. M. Mondeth; Kitchener, Arch-
deaconery Representative brought
greetings, Mrs. R. J. Thistle, Strat-
ford, Education Chairman of
the Huron Diocese urged her list-
eners to be aware of the gener-
ation gap, ,and the urgency to
meet this problem. She said
that it was'radical young people
against something instead of for
something, They see society as
a sick society and feel that it
is their job to clean it up. She
thinks that the churches are
too complacent and that this
problem should be studied and
understood, for a love of Christ
it leaves us no choice.
. A talking coloured film "The

Street" was shown after which
the ladies formed in groups and
discussed the basic trouble in
the family..and what is the re-
sponsibility of everyone, espec-
ially church members in help-
ing anew family, coming into
a neighborhood. In conclusion

The fourth meeting of the
Dublin Colleens was held on
October, 6 and the treasurers and
and secretaries reports were giv-
en. After the roll call Mrs. C.
Friend passed out leaflets and
Miss Melba Jean Friend led a
discussion on "Complexion Care"
and then she distributed some
pamphlets, among the girls.-
Mrs. C, Friend then discussed
grains of fabric. She also demon-
01 strated how to make flat felled
seams, to finish seams, and
how to mark the fabric with trac-
ing paper and tailors tacks.

of the Anglican Church Wornen
was well attended, .when held
in Trinity Anglican Church,
Ivlitchell on Wednesday evening.

Young, 168 Queen Street, Strat-
ford, in honour of Mrs, Frank
Migsen of North Hollywood,
California, former resident of
Stratford. Mrs. Elligsen has been
visiting in Stratford and other
centres for the past three months
and will soon be returning to
California where her daughter,
Mrs. Jack (Marguerite) Miller
and Mr. Miller and two grand- t
children, Shelley and Richy re-
side.
