' Leonard Verbeem, Sr., a resi-
dent of 86 Water Street, Wan
laceburg, died Sunday, April 27,
1969, in Sydenham District Hos-
pital, in his 82nd year. Born in
Holland he had resided in the
Seaforth area for a number Of
years before moving from the
Thamesville area to Wallace-
burg 26 years ago. He was- a
retired employee of the _Domin-
ion Glass Company and a mem-
ber of the Retirees Club of the
company. He also was a mem-
ber of Our Lady of Help
Church and Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, the
former , Magdalena Menheere,
seven sons, Jack , of Port Lamb-
ton; Albert, Robert, Peter, Leo-
nard, Jr., Gerald and Lawrence,
all of Wallaceburg; two daugh-
ters; Mrs. Mervin (Nellie) Lane
of Seaforlh; and Mrs. Gordon
(Jane) Reynolds of Stratford. He
is also survived by 28 grandchil-
dren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Adrian and Peter •
and two sisters, Jane and Saran
also survive h.: Holland.
Resting at the Eric F. Nich-
olls funeral home, 639 Elgin St.,
Wallaceburg until Tuesday mor-
ning, April 29, when the funeral
proceeded to Our Lady of Help
Church for Requiem High Mass.
Interment was in Riverview
cemetery, Wallaceburg.

A draft budget for 1960 pre-
sented by clerk-treasurer Clair
Vincent wan studied in detail
but a final decision was defer-
red until a later meeting. The
budget provides an increase of
approximately 2 mills in the
general rate.
Acting as a court of revision
on the Ruether drain council
approved an adjustment of $100
from the benefit assessment of
Alan Searle to that of Earl Wat-
son.
In other business council
agreed with Robert Thompson
to request the DM to prepare
an entrance to his property.
Instructed the clerk to call for
tenders on the following drain-
age works: Huether, Kennedy
No. 2, Logue, Burwell, Baker,
Ilunldng Branch No. 3. •
Agreed to pay membership to
the Huron County Municipal Of-
ficers Association, of $20.00 and
$15.00 to the Huron County
Road Superintendents Associa-
tion.
Passed a by-law to provide
for the Huether Drainage Works.
Huron County Board of Ed-
ucation Monday night approved
the hiring of the following teach-
