Bayfield who chairs the special
committee to study the regional
government question reported
on a. meeting with J. O. E. Pear-
son, ce-erdinator of the Region-:.
at Studies Program and. S. J.
ClasK director of the Munici-
pal Research Branch, Depart-
ment of Municipal Affairs.
Although the committee has
accepted an invitation from
Perth County to 'discuss the sub-
ject or regional government,
absolutely no commitments have
been made with any party' with
regard to it.
To date discussion has been
general with the provincial rep-
resentatives Pearson and Clas-
ky both indicating the province
is quite willing to jisten to any
proposals on the subject, Any
future legislation 'would irepe-
fully be flexible' to incorptitate
localeeituations.
Reeve McFadden did ask all
reeves and deputy-reeves for
their co-operation in a "very
comprehensive study, of the ad-
miniatrative structure both at
the county and the local level".
"The committee believes quite
sincerely if such a study is, car-
ried out, this information will
forrd the basis for any recom-
mendations pertaining to re-
gion-al goiternment • as it would ,
apply tnthe County of Huron,"

Huron-Perth Club is going to
donate $5.00 to each 4-I/ mem-
ber with a Shorthorn calf plus
an banquet ticket to the an-
nual meeting. The Ontario
Shorthorn Club will donate a
pen and a year's subscription
to the ' Shorthorn News. Huron
County is fourth in Ontario
with Shorthorn calves in 4-fl
clubs. The annual meeting and
banquet will be held again in
Egniondville Church in Decem-
ber. ,
The Ontario Shorthorn Ban-
ner for Huron-Perth for the
supreme Shorthorn' animal will
be given• out at Seaforth Fair.

Couple
Mr. and Mrs. Win. Dodds were
entertained by their family -on
Saturday evening, the occasion
being their 40th wedding anni-
versary. About 26 of the imme-
diate family attended the cele-
bration.
The couple were wed the eve-
' nirrg of March 6, 1929 in Mc-
Killop Township at the farm
home of the bride's parents, the
late Mr .and Mrs. Lorne Web-
ster, by Rev. W. P. Lane.
The bride, Pearl Webgter, was
attended by her sister Mae, now
Mrs. E. Holland, Toronto. The

DOdds, had his brother Adam as
groomsman. •
The couple recalled that ear-
ly in the evening of their 'wed-
ding day a terrific snow storm
started as the wedding dinner
was concluding.
Mr. Lane, the ..minister, was
the only one 'that braved a trip
home to ,Seaforth by horse and
cutter, all the other guests and
bridal couple remaining on the
farm over night. In the. morn-
ing, the happy couple left on ,
a wedding trip to Chicago.
The couple have one daugh-
ter, Dorothy, Mrs. Fred Mc-
Gregor, Brucefield ,and one son,
Donald, on the homestead, RR
1, Seaforth. They have five
"grandchildren.
Ladies 'Aid
The Ladies' Aid of First Pres-
byterian Church met Tuesday-
afternoon when a display of
quilts and aprons featured the,
meeting. Members of the church
brought these and more than
two dozen quilts were admired.
Mrs, Ed Andrews, the president,
presided over the meeting.
Mrs. R. S. Habkirk read a
poeM entitled "Masquerade".
Joanne Bode and Barbara

the "seven -wonder of ,the
world" respectively. Mrs. Don
Bode sang a solo. Mrs. Dale
Nixon read the scripture les-
