Do you think it's possible to
spend five days in Bermuda and
not play golf? In fact, do you•
feel it would be possible not to
even pick up a golf club?
You say no. Well, friend, it's •
not easy, but I did it. But I'm
getting ahe'ld of 'myself. Let's
start around the beginning of
this sad tale and I'll tell yoil
how an avid golfer spent five
days attempting to tee up a golf
ball. •

Two gals weren't interested in
golf, the other pair 'epee every
'impression, of wanting to play
nine holes as, soon as they ar-.
rived.
Arrived in Bermuda around_
noon on Wednesday and it was
raining. That was a good enough
excuse to get into the spirit of
things at -the bar in our hotel.
This sojourn lasted until dark
and now 11.rings us to Thursdar
morning.
It was overcast and cool. Too
cool to play golf, but not cool
enough to interfere with our
photographic mission, After lun-
ch the clouds broke and the, sun
poured through its warm rays
of welcome.
Beautiful. Let's 'head for the
fabled Mid-Ocean Golf Club.

Friday was an ideal golf day. photo).
The-temperature was in the mid-'
60s, the sky was bright and a
gentle breeze brushed against
your cheeks. After breakfast we
grabbed our golf jackets and
commandeered two taxis to take
us on our 15-mile journey.
As we arrived at Castle Har-
bor the rain began.
Oh well, we could still do our
work inside. Lunch arrived. Off
to a famous tavern for a fast ale
and a sandwich. The rain stopp-
ed and we went back to Castle
Harbor,
The next two hours really

The model was photographed
posing in, out, and around an
electric golf cart, on the greens,
fairways, in front of the pro
shop and watching foursomes
tee off. Talk about being teed
off!
Finally, the session• ended. It
time to head back to our hotel.
I couldn't believe it. How could
they do it?
Saturday morning. • Our day
consist e d of photographing
beach scenes. It took the full
day. No golf.
But wait, Sunday' was a free
day. We could dd" what we pleas-
ed, and everyone seemed pleas-
ed with the suggestion I made
about playing a few holes of
golf, By this time I would have
settled for an hour at a driving
range.
Renting motorbikes we head-
ed out for Mid-Ocean.
The girl from the advertising
agency, during a coffee stop,
slipped on a step and sprained
her ankle. She was eliminated
from the golf safari. And so was
the photographer. She accomp-
anied the age,ncy gal back, to the
hotel.
Then the Fashion Editor re:
membered she had 'an appoint-
ment. Three left. The company
rep changed his mind and de-
cided togo on a sightseeing trip.
The model and I pulled into
Mid-Ocean.
As we headed for the pro
shop she revealed that she real-
ly wasn't a golfer and would I
mind if she begged off. ' •
