A Christmas pageant was pre-
sented by Group one with
Mrs. Ida McClinchey as narratar.
Miss Cathy Taylor took the part
of a curious ragged boy who had
never heard of the baby Jesus.
Mrs. Wm. Taylor read the Scrip-
ture, Luke 1, 1-20.
Mrs. Robert Taylor, Mrs.
Wm. McAsh, Mrs. Tom Consitt,
Mrs. Florence Elliott, Mrs.Louis
Taylor, Mrs. B. Webster and
Mrs. Win. Taylor joined together
as Carol singers and sapg several
Christmas carols with the boy
asking questions betweenCarolS,
then Mrs. Robert Taylor read the
Christmas story. A double duet
consisting of Mrs. Wm. Taylor,
Mrs. Louis Taylor, Mrs. B.Web-
ster and Mrs. Ida McClinchey
sang "Oh Holy Night". A poem
was read by Mrs. Tom Consitt
"Christmas Not Xmas". A read-
ing by Mrs. Ida McClinchey
"Christmas is Remembering".
This pageant will be repeated at
the concert on December 21st in
the Township Hall. The meeting
was closed with prayer by Mrs.
Ida McClinchey and group 3 ser-
ved lunch.
THE EXPLORER GROUP
The Explorer Group met with
the president, Miss Cathy Taylor
in charge.
Miss ,Anna Marie Heard read
the scripture lesson, prayer by
Miss T. Chuter, Miss Sylvia Wil-
son read the minutes. The offer-
ing was taken up by Miss Brenda
Dowson and dedicated by Miss
Anna Marie Heard. Miss T.
Chuter gave the financial report
and the meeting was closed by
the president.
A concert sponsored by the
U.C.W. will be held on Monday,
December 21st In the Township
Hall.
WHITE GIFT SERVICE
A white gift service was held
lest Sunday in the United Church
with Rev. Murdock Morrison in
charge. The choir under the
leadership of the organist, Mrs.
Doug. McAsh sang a number of
Christmas carols. Others
assisting with the service were
Mrs. Louis Taylor, Miss Sylvia
Wilson, gr. Rob Roy Elliott,
Miss Cathy Taylor and Miss
Beverly Cantelon.
A special Christmas service
will be held next Sunday morning
when the combined choirs, of
Wait and Goshen will present
a Christmas Cantata at both
Varna and Goshen Churches.

the car is gone."
A man went to a resort for
his health, but unfortunately died
there. His body was shipped back
home and as his widow was view-
ing his remains, a friend re-
marked; ' Doesn't he look won-
derful?"
"'Yes," replied the widow,
s I think those two weeks in the
resort did him a world of rood."
