Cecil McCourt, Atwood, showed the winning four-year- old, Courtholme Sovereign Audrey, who took the Best Udder award. Thames Crest Master Ella, shown by J. E. Freiburger, won the President's. Trophy for type and production. J. E. Freiburger also showed the winning bull calf, the first prize senior get- of-sire by Beckhaven Nobleman, the winning progeny of dam from Cowhorn Gloria, the first prize breeder's herd, and the winner in the Futurity Class for three- year-olds. Later in the evening, they were equally surprised when returning to their home at 35 West St., Seaforth, to find forty of their relatives, already gathered there to help them cele- breke their Golden Wedding,which falls on Tuesday?September 22. A social evening followed with lunch and the traditional anniver- sary cake. The couple were married at the home of the bride"s parents, the late John Clark and Joan Sherran in McKillop township, the bride being the former Flo- rence Clark. The grog m -Of 50 years is the son of the late James Henry Johnston and Agnes Henderson Varna, Stanley township. The bride taught school for six years before her marriage. She is a sister of Mrs. Chas. Mackay, Seaforth, Mrs. Edna Mackie.; London and Leslie, Hamilton. The groom's brother, George and sister, Mrs. Jas. McBride, are deceased. After their marriage, they farmed on Parr Line, Stanley township until five years ago, when they retired to their pre- sent home in Seaforth. The celebrants have a family of three, Murvin, Varna, Helen Mrs. Wm. Burdge, Brucefield, and Bruce, Seaforth, and 'seven grandchildren. Couple Wed 25 Years Forty friends and neighbors gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cameron Fri- day evening to spend a social evening with them on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniver- sary. During the evening cards were enjoyed, the follOWing win- ning the prizes; Ladles 1st - Mrs. E. Papple, Consolation, Marjorie Papple; Men's 1st - Glenford Raw; Consolation - Leonard Strong. A pole lamp was presented by Jack McKay and Wilfred. Coleman. Maurice Etue read the address. Perth County Holstein breed- ers held their anpual Black and White Show Sentember. 22 at Stratford Fair. A buyer from New York described this show as the best quality Black and White county show he had ever seen, as 29 exhibitors paraded 113 animals before Judge Wm. Grieve of Dorchester. J. E. Freiburger, Listowel, won the Premier Breeder award, while Stonetown Farms Ltd., St. Marys, took the Premier Exhibi- tor honours. Grand Champion Female was Glenmiller Shirley Reflection who stood first in the aged cow class for Wm. Miller, Milver- ton. Shirley is a large cow, tall at the withers and well balanced on good legs and feet. The Re- serve Grand Championship went to the winning three-year-old, High Silo Citation Flora, shown by J. E. Freiburger. Flora•is a large cow with great width, strong on top and level at the rump. Stonetown Texal Chico, the first prize senior yearling hei- fer shown by Stonetown Farm's Ltd., was named Junior Champ- ion Female, while the winning junior yearling heifer, High Silo Haven Helen, shown by J. E. Freiburger took the Reserve Junior Championship. The Jun- ior Champion, who headed her class at Western Fair„ London, is a large, stylish heifer, level at the rump and strong on top. The Reserve Junior Champion is very sharp, dairy-like, and clean-cut, well grown for her age. . The „Champion and Reserve Champion Male were both chosen from- the yearling bull class, which received ribbons only. First prize winner and Grand Champion was Downiedale Signi- fance, jointly owned by Stuart W. Smale, St. Marys and Harold Stewart, Listowel.
