day evening with 14 present. Mrs.

succeeds Mrs. Gerald Godbolt

Oke, Seaforth: Mrs,. Kemp
Thompson, Waterloo; secretary-,
treasurer, Mrs. Robert E. Pop-
ham, Beiwood. Mrs. Oliver Bell,
St. Marys, was installation
officer. The guest speaker was
Rev. D. F. Collier, director of
Bon Accord Farm near Galt.
The farm treats drug addicts
and alcoholics. He stressed the
need for hospital auxiliaries to
take a key role in creating com-
munity understanding of drug de-
pendence. "We mast invest in
knowledge such as extensive re-
search in the abuse of drugs„
and alcohol to counteract the
fears and hysteria about us,"
he, said. Mr, Collier added that
too many drug.dependent people
are not treated like human beings.
,‘VVe most .relate to them just;
as we do the healthy, respectable
people whose behaviour is ac-
ceptable," he suggested.
