Softball Tournament
Winds Up Dublin Program

Mrs. Bob Cronin
A successful tournament
sponsored by the Dublin District
Athletic Association on Sunday,
wound up the House League Girl's
Softball' on the playground area
behind the Catholic Church in
Dublin. Tournament champions
were St. Columban North coached
by Mrs. Joe Delaney.
The results of the days games
are: St. Columban North defeated
Dublin Town 16-11; 2nd game,
Hibbert North defeated Dublin
North 17-7; 3rd game, St. Col-
umban South defeated Dublin
South 16-15. In the semi-finals,
St. Columban North downed Hib-
bert South 23-22. In the third
game, St. Columban South beat
Hibbert North 23-9. In the final,
,,game for the championship, St.
Columban North beat St. Colum-
ban South 22-17. While the game
were in play, those on the side-vi,
lines could purchase soft drinks,
pie and ice cream and hot dogs
from the •booths set up on the
grounds.
Executive members were
pleased with the support they
received from the coaches, play-
ers, fans and anyone who helped
in any way in the booths and on
the grounds. They plan ,to make
the tournament an annual event.
A special .thank you is due also
to the umpires, Norman McKay,
Randy Moore,Joe Cronin, Lloyd
Cameron an Doug Smtth, and
the timekeeper and scorekeeper
Larry Cook and George Coville.
