McLean. Ripley area people were
glad to learn this past week that
George was able to return home.
AWo this past week Niels Frederik
sen was able to come home from
Kincardine Hospital. Recently,
also back to their homes, are Mrs.
Mabel Breckenridge and Elwyn
Polloelt; while Mrs. Ivan Cook was
reported last week as entering
Kincardine Hospital.
• The lights of Christmas are going
up everywhere. Along the main
street east in Ripley, Les Wardell
has his barber shop window
decorated for the past two weeks,
then Mr.. and Mrs_ Omen Rock at
their electrical repair shop and,
during the latter part of last week
Joy and George McLean have
strung their entire upstair front
batomy with coloured fights. Last
Thursday afternoon when there
were fewer cars on the street
Leonard Irwin helped village fore-

coloured lights installed over the
• main intersection • at the bank
• corner and also the traditional
Christmas tree in corner of Gore

Hall on Thursday evenings, had an
outdoor hike instead.
It was interesting to note that in
the election held last Monday.
December 2„ seventy per cern of
the eligible voters in Ripley were
out. Even Walter Lock, just
recently returned from- Kincardine
Hospital, voted. In charge of the
voting were Mrs.. Joan (Dune. D.)
McLeod and Mrs. Grace Peet and
the v-oting for Ripley was held in
Clerk Bill McCreath's office, next
to the old Ripley Post Office.
