Public Hearing On
Ripley Complex
Huron Township Council met on
October 7th with all members but
Councillor Elliott in attendance.
Cottage lease transfers were
signed for Grace Macintosh Estate
toErnest Newson; Mrs, J. M.
Game to her daughter. Marion
Bennett and E. A. Teahan to
George Arnott..
The Ontario Municipal Board
sent notice that they will conduct a
public hearing regarding the Rec-
reation Complex, Phase # 1 which
is for an arena and auditorium, on
December 10 at 10 o'clock a.m. in
the Township Hall.
By-laws to regulate speed limit
on Penetangore Row at 40 miles
per hour and on Bruce Beach Road
between Con. 8 and 10 at 25 m.p.h.
were passed and sent to the
Ministry of Transportation and
Communications for apitproval.
Township accounts of $2,546.12
and Road accounts of $66,712.75
were ordered paid.•
Council adjourned to meet on
October •21 and November 4
starting at' 10 a m.

BROWNIE NEWS
On' Thursday, October 8th the
Brownies opened their meeting
with a game "Bumblebees and
Toadstools” followed by Brownie
Ring. Judy Hunter was Fairy
Queen and the Brownies hopped
their Brownie Gold. Tawny Owl
did inspection for a complete
uniform and a Brownie Smile.
They then had Brownie Prayer.
At Pow Wow, Brownies` sang
Happy Birthday to Tracey McDon-
agh. Rosalea Cameron showed
three interesting things of nature.
Brown Owl introduced Cadet San-
dra Finlay to the Pack, as she is
going to play the piano for us to
learn new- songs. Snowy Owl
handed out calendars to the
Brownies who were interested in
selling them. The brownies will
have their Hallowe'en .Party on
October 29th. All the Brownies are
to try and rememberto bring a
sit -upon to the next , meeting.
During work period the Pack had
fun singing and doing actions to the
song "Brownie Band" and "Dance
of the Seven Capers". Tawny Owl
had Tweenie explain the meaning
of a Smile and Good Turn.
The meeting dosed with Taps.

,left on October 16th for a three
weeks tour of California and
Arizona.

Lucknow Skating Club will hold
registration for the coming season
on two Saturday afternoons, Octo-
ber. 19 and 26, at the Lucknow
Town Hall -from 2 to 4 p.m.
M.P. Adds To
Ottawa Staff
R. E. McKinley, federal MP of
Huron -Middlesex and Chief Oppo-
sition Whip in the. House of
Commons, announced this week
that he has added a new member to
his staff in the person of David
Royal.
Mr. Royal is the third son of Rev.
and Mrs. G. L. Royal of Goderich,
and received his B.A. in history in
1973 following two years of study at
Sir Wilfred Laurier and one year at
McGill University.
Formerly employed by the Bank
of Commerce in Montreal, Mr.
Royal's duties will include research
and committee organization, as
well, as otherresponsibllities assoc-
iated with the Whip's office.
