November 18 and 19th were
discussed and delegates appointed.
The group is arranging a pro-
gram at Pinecrest for the patients
on Tuesday, October 1Sth.
The making of Christmas pud-
dings in November was discussed
and it was decided that we would
make them the same as other
years.
Mrs. Bob Helm was convener for
the program and opened with a
poem "I know something good
about you". The motto "A new
and better world should start with
each one of us" was prepared and
given by Mrs. Sam Gibson. If we
remember the golden rule and try
to live by it every day we will make
a better home and our influence
will spread from • our homes to the
community and to the world around
us. She closed her thoughts with a

poem "Remember the best".
Mrs. Morgan Henderson gave a
talk on her trip to the beautiful
islands .of Hawaii which we all
enjoyed very much and Miss Lena
Robinson presented her with a gift.
Mrs. Bob Helm closed with a poem
"A tribute to a housewife" which
brought a very pleasant afternoon
to a close.

in every farm kitchen.
When it comes to offering specialized financial services to
farmers, Al Pacey, Manager of L°ucknow's Royal Bank, is as
comfortable doing business in your kitchen as he is in his
ownoffice. (More often than you'd think, the farm kitchen is
thebest place to get Al's banking expertise fully
concentrated on helping you achieve, a worthwhile project.)
What's more -and this is important—Al Pacey has the full
facilities and expertise of our Agricultural and Credit
Departments to back him up. In addition to Farmplan
Credit & Counselling he can tell you how
to protect your farm, and family with
Farmpplan Creditor Life Insurance.
We'd -like you to give Al a call, to. see just
how effectively he can use his experience
and judgment to offer you sound advice .
,.backed up by some pretty sound and
sizeable dollars if your growth elan•
makes agricultural and economic sense.
If you'd -like to have that talk
with Al Pacey, call him at
528-2826. And if it makes
better sense to have that
important first meeting in his
office, instead of your kitchen,
the coffee's on Al.

BROOKSIDE
HAPPENINGS
Monday, September 23 was
Professional Development Day.
The students of Brookside Public
School did not attend school on that
day.
Many of the students marched
behind the float at the 'Dungannon
Fail Fair. Student exhibits were
displayed in the hall during the
afternoon..
Monday, October 7; was 'Meet
the TeacherNight'. Many parents
visited rooms and watched a
gymnastic display put on by the
students in the gym. Many parents
had their first French lesson. Miss
Lemon's Grade 4 class, under the
guidance of Mr. G. Lawrence,
taught elementary French to par-
ents and onlookers. The under-
sized French teachers taught the
over -sized students to say "La
petite couper de paille" and to sing
the song loudly enough that it rang
in the ears of everyone inside the
gym.
There was a discussion on the
Sports' Nights for this year. It -was
decided to hold them on the second
and 4th Monday night in each
month. It is hoped there will be a
good turnout. Coffee and dough-
nuts brought the evening to a close.
Students are practising for the
Cross Country Run to be held at
Point Farms next Wednesday,
October 16.
On Friday of last week we held
our Thanksgving Assembly in the
auditorium. Brad Beattie • was
chairman for the programwhich
opened with the singing of "We
Gather 'Together'. The scripture
