The monthly meeting of St.
Joseph's Catholic Women's Lea-
gue, Kingsbridge, held on Mon-
day, October 7, and attended by 27
members • and 1 ' visitor, opened
with prayer led by Fr. Dentinger.
Mrs: Howard presided.
Minutes were read by Mrs.
Hogan. Treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. Austin. Correspon-
dence was read by Mrs. Martin..
Thank you notes were read from:
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hendriks,
Mr. and Mrs. Van Dyke, The
Lambertus family, Mr. and Mrs.
Dan Frayne and Fr. Dentinger. An
invitation from the Trinity U.C.W.
to attend a Fall Thankoffering on.
October 20 was read. Two area
farmers were mentioned in the
Western Ontario Farmer as being
winners in the Seaforth Black and
White Show; they are: Mrs. Emma
Franken and Joe Van Osch. The.
October ' Chatelaine has an article
onAbortion-For, and Against. Mrs.
Howard mentioned that at the
Deanery meeting, we, were remind -
cd to keep writing our letters
against abortion to Ottawa.
Mrs. Van Osch, read the
scripture reading and presented
Mrs. Eugene Frayne with a 'gift on
the occasion of their 25th wedding
anniversary October 15th. Roll call
was given by Mrs. Frayne. She
and Mrs. C. Riegling will visit a
new lady of the church, Mrs.
O'Keefe visited Mary Crawford in
hospital. Guides and Brownies
have started. A Communications
and Public Relations convener is
needed'." A Benefit Dance will be
held for• Mr. and Mrs. Jim Card
who recently lost their barn by fire.

Mrs. Courtney reported on .Fr.
Dentinger's birthday party held by
the League on September 1/. 32
members attended. There ilt be
Open House at the •School Thurs-
day, October 10. She mentioned ail
the graduates of Goderich High
School and also had available a
schedule of Night School Classes in
Huron County. She and Mrs.
Howard reported on the Deanery
meeting held inSt. Columban and
attended by • 7 of our members.
A convener is needed for Resolu-
tion and Legislation:, A volunteer is
needed to learn abut the Ovula-
tion Method of Birth control.
Meetings are held in Mississauga.
The Organization Convenership
also , needs a helper.
Mrs. Doherty reported on cater-
ing. The League is waiting to hear
from Stratford re the slowing of
speed limit on Highway 21. ' A
delegation of our members' will
attend the next council meeting.

KIN LOUGH NEWS
The October meeting of the
Anglican Church Women was held
at the home of Mrs. Howard
Thompson. Sixteen ladies were
present. This was a work meeting,
and a quilt was quilted during the
afternoon. Three quilts were sold
that the ladies had made earlier in
the year.
Mrs. Gertrude Walsh presided
and extended a welcome to every-
one and •read Psalm 24 for the
scripture lesson, All joined in
singing .the hymn' "What a friend
we have in Jesus". Prayers
followed. Mrs. Jack Scott gave a
paper . on "Thanksgiving, and
being thankful" for the meditation,
concluding with a poem and a
prayer of Thanksgiving.
The correspondence was read.
All were reminded of the Fall
Deanery meeting, to be held at St.
Georges //Church, Goderich , on
October 16th at 7.30 p.m. and also
the invitation 'to attend .the thank -
offering meeting

Church on Sunday, October 20th at
3 o'clock. Members. are to have
their fruits, flowers,grain and
vegetables at the church on Satur-
day, October 26th in preparation
for. ,the Harvest' Thanksgiving Serv-

10.30 ' a -.m. 'It was thought
advisable to have another commit-
tee meeting to finalize the plans for
the entertaining day .at Brucelea
Haven, Walkerton.
The meeting closed with the
litany and prayer and Grace was
sung. A delicious lunch was served
by the hostess. Mrs. George Gra-
ham gave the courtesy remarks.

'meeting was , adjourned ' by Mrs.
Martin and Fr. Dentinger led
in prayer.
• A film "Jamie, 'Story of a
Sibling" was enjoyed by all. The
mystery gift was won by Mrs. Bill
Berry. Lunch was served.

The regular meeting of Trinity
U.C.W. was held in the Church
basement October 10 ' with • an
attendance 'of 19 ladies and one
child. The meeting came to order
with the singing of the .'first two
verses of Hymn 577; then• all
repeated the Lord's Prayer in
unison. A. reading called "A
Thankful Heart" was given by
Mrs. Allan Ritchie. Mrs. Cook led
in prayer,. and the roll call was
answered with a verse on
Thanksgiving. Mrs. Allan Hackett.
opened the devotions with a verse.
and a short prayer. Mrs. Donald
Hackett 'read the scripture. The
hymn "The Light of the World is
Jesus" followed. The theme for
the meditations was 'Light' and
was given by Mrs. Allan Hackett
and Mrs., Donald Hackett, assisted
by Mrs. Chester Hackett and Mrs.
Bill Andrew. Hymn 535 was sung
and Mrs. Doug Raynard, 'Mrs. Jim
Hunter and Mrs. Blake Alton each
read a short article on Light in our
lives. The devotional part of the
meeting closed with the singing of
"Lead Kindly Light" and a prayer
by Mrs. Allan Hackett:
Mrs: Ken Alton had a contest for
Thanksgiving, with Mrs. Charles
Wilkins being the winner. Mrs.
Chester ' Hackett had the Study
Book, the third part of "Mission
impossible -Unless", ' with Mrs.
Donald Hackett reading from Eph-

lunch was served by the committee
in charge; 'during which Mrs. Ken

brook United Church. Women met
in . the church basement Tuesday
afternoon, October 8thwith nine
members present:
Mrs. H.• Jefferson opened the
meeting by repeating Hymn 19 in
unison. Hymn 577 "Come ye
Thankful People Come" was sung,
followed with Psalm 731 read in,
unison.
Each member took part in a
"Reading For Every •Day". Hymn
578, Sing to the Lord ' of Harvest,
was sung. Mrs. J. Leddy took the
topic "On Rules" and trying to get
along with ' people. Mrs. • H.
Jefferson read ' "Thanks be to
God". Mrs. R. Hanna took over
the business. A number of thank
you notes were read, also a couple
of invitations were received. Mrs.
J. Hildebrand read a poem "My
Kitchen Prayer'.
