Died At Age 94
MRS. JOHN MILLER
Mrs. John Miller of Lucknow'
passed away at her home on Sun-
day , September 8th due to a heart
attack. She was 94.
Mrs. Miller was the former
Margaret Jane MacKenzie, daugh-
ter of John MacKenzie and Cath-
arine Clark; and was born in Kin-
loss Township on November 5 ,
1879. :
On November 2lst , 1906, she -
"married John Miller Of West Wawa -
nosh, where they• farmed until
moving to Lucknow in June 1935.
Mr. Miller passed. away in
1945. They were predeceased by
an infant daughter , Doris Eileen,
in 1920.
Mrs. Miller is survived by two
daughters and two sons, Mrs. John
(Muriel) Sparkes of London, Alvin
Miller of Strathroy, Mrs. Fred
(Margaret) McQuillin, of West
Wawanosh and .Eldon Miller of
Lucknow; ten grandchildren and
twenty-eight great grandchildren
and one brother Alex MacKenzie ,
Luc know .
She was also predeceasedby
two sisters Mrs. Tom (Elizabeth)
Gaunt and Miss Katharine .Mac-
Kenzie .
The funeral service was held
on Tuesday, September 10th, at
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow, Rev. Albert J. Cook

Japan, and the Queen of the Pacif-
ic Pageant held in Melborne
Australia.
An irresistible smile , a stature..
of 57" and 116 lbs. along with a
lively personality, won her the
title of Miss Dominion of Canada
before television and motion pic-
ture cameras and media from
throughout Canada and USA.
Miss Campbell has 1 sister and
was born in Leamington. Sheen -
joys dancing and tennis and wishes
to further her career in modelling ,
public relations and in the adver-
tising field.
of St. Helens United Church, of
which Mrs. Miller was a member,
was .minister.
Interment was in Greenhill
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ivan McQuil-
lin, Barry McQuillin, Don Camer-
on, Ross Durnin Les Campbell
and Wayne McIntosh.

Arrange Canvass
The Lucknow branch of the
Canadian Bible Society held its
annual meeting Thursday of last..
week in the Lucknow Presbyterian
church.
Mrs. Bob Damsma was elected
to serve as secretary. Dr. J.E.
Little will continue as president and
Mr. Allen Johnson serves as
treasurer.
The society is beginning its •
annual canvass in the Lucknow
area this week,
Fire Destroys
Barn, Contents
Fire destroyed a barn and its
contents near Bruce Beach on the
lakeshore in Huron Township last
Thursday.
The barn, owned by George
McLean of R. R. 1, Kincardine.,
contained about S .000 bales of
hay , 1,800 bales of straw , three
tractors, a baler, a plow and a
manure spreader.
The fire broke out about noon
in the one -year -old barn and is
believed to have been caused by
spontaneous combustion in hay.
Ripley Fire Department fought
the fire.
