Legion Auxiliary held their Sept-
ember meeting last Thursday
evening in the Legion Hall with
president Mrs. Nadine Danforth
of Point Clark in charge. Regular
meetings are held each month on
the first Thursday evening. Sec-
retary is Mrs. Barbara Paquette.

Late Saturday afternoon two
cars collided with heavy damage
at the Olivet Church corner ;three
blocks south of Ripley. The'
smashed cars were viewed by
several people on Sunday. They
were parked beside Howard
Hodge's garage in Ripley. ' At . this
time details such as names and
extent of injuriessuffered are not
known. One car was new with
only six thousand registered on
,the speedometer.

The first unit of United Church
Women met on September 3rd in
the basement. of S. Andrew's
United Church in Ripley. Each
member brought a guestand all
enjoyed a delicious meal. Mrs.
Roy MacKenzie was in charge of.
the devotional period in which
Mrs. Francis Gemmell and Mrs.
Wallace Pollock sang a duet. Mrs.
Morley Scott took over the busi-
ness session. Mrs. Florence Lid-
dle thanked those taking part in
the meeting. The meeting clos-
ed with the Lord's Prayer.

ently a patient in St. Joe's Hospit-
al, inLondon. Chris went into St.
Joseph's last Friday.

YEARBOOKS
The yearbooks were distributed
this week. It was found out that
a certain student was moonlight-
ing last year. Thanks again go to
Roy and his committee for their
work.
PICTURE DAY
Friday of last week saw
everyone looking good from the
waist up as it was picture day.
Thanks goes to Bob Campbell for
helping the photographer • round
up the students, inmates (who had
been put behind bars earlier this
week) and putting a smile upon -
their faces.
NEW TEACHERS
Our school has been lucky this
year in getting 3 new teachers.
Miss Fisher is teaching typing,
which is a new subject offered
this year.
Mrs. Gratten is filling the part
of our capable librarian.
Mr. Poulon is teaching French
to our Grade 7 and 8's.
We wish these teachers the best
of luck in their new positions.
