McArthurs Hold
Third Reunion
The third annual McArthur Re-
union was held. on Saturday , Aug-
ust the 17th atthey home of Mr.
and Mrs. Bert Bushell, R. R. 5
Luc know . .
This year there was an added .-
twist to the merriment besides the
usual games and prizes. There
was an auction held with the pro-
ceeds going into the Reunion Fund.
Bert Bushell was the acting auc-
tioneer. Bert auctioned off a
variety of items including (by
mistake) his sister -in-laws purse.
The purse (worth $35.00) was
sold with the last bid being $5. 00.
It was discovered later that the
purse contained over $1,000.00.
It was returned all intact to its
rightful owner.
After the delicious buffet supper
which was set off to perfection
by Rose Bushell's Third Reunion
Cake there was dancing for. the
more energetic and a robust bon-
fire for the feeble legged ones.
This year there was a voting
of officers. Elmer McArthur of
Toronto was nominated Chairman
by Katherine Bostick also of
Toronto. Margaret Howes of Col-
lingwood was nominated Secretary
by Grace Leonard of To bermory ..'
Grace Leonard then nominated.
Gladys Bushell of Lucknow as
Treasurer. -
Every year since the reunion was
first held the fun has been getting
greater and greater. So since we
now have a Chairman, Secretary
and Treasurer next year should be
a real blast. So come on all you
McArthurs , we r,iade. a
