Motor Accident
Takes Life Of
Belgrave Woman
A two -vehicle crash on Thurs-
day, August 15, took the life of a,
51 -year-old Belgrave area wornan..
Marion McBurney, wife of Allan.
McBurney, R. R. 5- Winghani was
On her way to work about, 3•p. ni.
on Thursday and was driving on
the 10th concession of East Wawa -
nosh when. her car was in collision
with a gravel truck driven by Alan
I. Shumacher of Mildmay. The
collision took place at sidcroad
36-37. °
Mrs. McBurney died at the
scene' of the accident. Mr.
Shurnacher suffered minor injuries.
Both were alone at the time of, the
accident.
Mrs. McBurney was 'a native of •
Ripley. She married Mr. Mc -
Burney in Ripley on December 26
1962. Surviving besides her hus-
band are three children, Danny,
Ricky and'April, all at home.
Her father, Russel White of San
Josc , California also survives as
does one sister Mrs. Dave (Isa-
belle)
Isa-belle) MacDonald of Goderich.
She received her education in
Ripley before training as a regist-
ered nurse at London's Victoria
Ilospital. She was a member of
Knox Presbyterian Church , Bel -
grave , and the Women's Mission-
ary .Society .
The funeral w'as held from the
S. J. Walker Funeral llome,
Wingharn on August,17, 1974 at
3.30 .p.m: The Rev; Barry Pass- •
more officiated With interment in
13r'andon Cemetery, Belgrave.
Serving as pallbearers were
Clarence Hanna, Sydney Thomp-
son, John Nixon, Gordon McBurn-
ey ,

bour. Flowcrbearers were John
Scott, Calvin Nixon and)Roddy
MacDonald.

sister and brother-in-law Mr. and
N1rs. Fred Gilchrist. They also
visited with Mr. and Firs. Clayton
Shaw of Chesley on Thursday,
August 8th.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hamilton
were in Niagara Falls on the Holi-
. day week end and visited with
I'viiss Betty Hamilton who was in
hospital for surgery on August 2nd.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gilchrist
visited with June's brother in
Cayuga for a few days last week
and also visited l3etty I la milton in
the hospital at Niagara Falls.
