Fiddle Jamboree held in the audi-
torium of the Ripley District High
School was the last of the corn-
munity,get-togethers over the
week end. The auditorium was
jammed to the doors and these
doors were opened Perhaps it was
fitting that the music of Murray
McDonald's bag pipes and the
sweet lilting music of the singing
fiddles came up the quiet streets
of Ripley en the calm summer
evening air as the writer walked
home after. ten.
Mr. . Tout deserves praise for his.
work in organizing and conducting
this Jamboree as an event to gath-
er. some funds for the 1975 Ripley
Huron Old Boys Reunion. He
made the plans for it and everyone
just'co-operated with hila in what-
ever way was suited to their tal-
ents. Those attending' came from
a• wide area and included 'several
visitors home here. Also thea
violin players, dancers and other
musicians were from near and far.
The ladies on the Reunioncommit-
tee served there lunch after the
Jamboree. •
