By The Sentinel THAT Lucknow Fire .Department responded to two.Ashfield Town- ship •fire calls within the past' week. Fortunately, both were of a minor nature. On' Thursday of last week, about 4.45 p.m. , firemen responded to the farm of Bill Farrish.where a grass fire was.threatening. On Saturday, about 12,45 p.m. , a fire in an. automobile on the farm of Wayne Jerome was cause for the fire call. THAT the Lucknow Fall Fair prize list has been completed and is available from the secretary, Ross Errington or at The Lucknow. Sentinel.. THAT the growing community of Kincardine now has,a full time fire chief. Bili Griffith ofthat community, former voluriteer chief, has been hired for full . time duty at a salary of $9500. Bill is known -to, many local resid- ents. He will now devote full time to the .chief's position. This camp is held in August on the campus of Lakefield College near Peterborough, Ontario. Name' Officers Of Lochalsh Cemetery The Lochalsh Cemetery meet- ing was held at the home of Mrs. Henry MacKenzie with a large attendance. Donald Finlayson of Toronto was appointed chairman for .the meeting.. Gordon Finlayson, secretary - treasurer, read the minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer's report. A discussion of erecting a name "Lochalsh Cemetery" 'was favour- ed by all who attended the meet- ing. Mrs. John MacDonald and Mrs. ,Henry MacKenzie were appointed to get some informa- tion and an executive meeting will'be held later.
