40th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cook enter-
tained thirty of their family , rela-
tives
ela-tives and friends•to a dinner in
the Mayfair Restaurant Saturday
evening, June 22 on the occasion
of their 40th wedding anniversary.
The actual anniversary is June 30.
After a lovely meal, other.
friends gathered and danced to the
music of Cliff Emmerton of Rip-
ley. Mr. and Mrs. Cook receiv-
ed lovely gifts and many cards.
A lunch was served including
a cake decorated and inscribed
with 40th anniversary. Friends
came from St. Thomas, Goder-
ich, Hanover, Whitechurch and
Luc know . •
Mrs. Cook is the former Evelyn
Reid, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel Reid of Ashfield
and Peter is the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cook of Ash-
field .

They have two sons Lorne -of
Ashfield , Ivan of Ripley and a
daughter Mrs. Peter (Elaine) Steer
of Loddon and ten grandchildren.
Receives Honourary
life Membership
On Friday evening, June 14th,
Mr: • W . G. Baillie , retired .Proba -
tion Officer for. the County of
Bruce was presented with an Hon-
ourary Life Membership in the Ont-
ario Probation Officers Association
ata meeting held at the Univer-
sity of Waterloo, which between
500 and 600 guests and their wives
attended .
Mr. Baillie was one of the first
Probation Officers appointed in
Ontario by the Attorney General
and the first Probation Officer for
the County of Bruce.
In presenting Mr. Baillie, the
President of the Assciciation thank-
ed him for his active participation
in the Promotion of Probation in
the Province of Ontario and for his
keen interest in the Ontario Proba -
tion Officers Association of Ontar-
io.
The President Of the Association
then presented Mr. Baillie with a
plaque suitably inscribed.

bation Officer for sixteen years,
retiring last year from the office.

THAT the Lucknow,Reunion Com-
mittee has requested that homes
and business places in the village
be decorated for this weekend.
Where possible it would be ap-
preciated if any outdoor lighting
be left on for the week end to •
help brighten up the town, as
much as possible.
THAT the Sentinel still has a few
welcome home signs available
for 'Reunion. decorating. The
price is 50¢ each.
THAT many residents have been
asked to assist in various ways
during the reunion week end.
Others have volunteered their
services. 'Anyone who has not
been assigned a job, and' might
•be willing to assist, is requested
to contact Mrs. Stuart Jamieson.

THAT Captain. Jack Cameron and
Mrs. Cameron of the Sa:vation
Army in Wingham have been
removed to Burlingtonandwill be
succeeded in Wingham by Aux-
iliary Captain and Mrs., Albert,
Merkin from Edmonton'. Cam- '
erons have been in Wingham for
two years.
THAT Rev. Glenn Noble; at the
Sunday morning service at 'Luck -
now Presbyterian Church, baptiz-
ed Joyce Marie, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs:. William McWhinney of
Dungannon.
THAT Ontario Provincial police
had several area banks under sur-
veillance on_4Eriday afterseceiv-
ing a tip on an expected bank
robbery. The Lucknow banks
were among those watched.
THAT the beard growing contest
for Lucknow Reunion will be jud-
ged
ud-ged at the Public School on Fri-
day night. Entrants in this con-
test are reminded to be at the
school for this event.
THAT Art and Ardonna Le Grand.
have sold Teeswater Home Hard-
ware to Murray Beaudoin of Ar-
kona. They have operated the
business for the past three years.
Mrs. Le Grand is the former—
Ardonna Johnston daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Johnston of
Lucknow. They will continue to
reside in Teeswater.
THAT The Sentinel has reprinted
the 1910 Old Boys Reunion edition
of the paper which is now for
sale at $1 per copy. The issue
is full of early history of the
village and is well illustrated.
