uncil feared that the stalling
old end up with no road and '
t county taxpayers would have
pay for the wear of heavy traf-

The proposed two-lane road

County,officials put the .pressure
the government because county

embers to see no one except the
minister and not to go ahead with
a meeting if the delegation "was
foisted off on flunkies".
Ontario Hydro had promised
last year to build the ,$3 million
access road to the Douglas Point '
site providing the government
would pay half the cost.
County council couldn't Under-
stand why Hydro qualified its in-
tention to pay part of the cost of
the road because in other areas,
such.as at Nanticoke along Lake.
Erie , Hydro paid 100 per cent of
access road costs. '
