The Wingham Sportsman slow
pitch ball game was played on
Sunday with Gorrie. Playing on
the team from here were Walter
Moore and Joe Tiffin. They play-
ed 9 innings with a score of 28-27
in favor of Corrie.

sympathy to Carl Weber in the
passing of his wife Muriel last
Thursday at Wingham Hospital and

Donald Caesar was admitted to
Wingham Hospital on Friday. He
is wished a speedy recovery by his'

On Thursday, June the 20th
Lucknow Women's Institute spon-
sored an enjoyable bus tour to the
Hamilton and Stoney creek area
with 34 taking the tour. Bus driv-
er
riv-er was Anne Wisser. .
The gra p toured the Erland
Lee Hornetead which they
found very interesting and enjoyed
their lunch on the spacious lawn.
Following lunch they had .a
guided tour of important and hist-
orical parts of the city of Hamil-
ton including the Mountain and
the Botanical Gardens. They later
visited a shopping centre where
the group had supper before return-
ing home.

with his bulldozer levelling up the
grounds on the east side of his
field and removing the trees left
when the ditch was put in. The
field is ready for ploughing this
fall.
On Wednesday evening a meet-
ing of. the Recreation officers,
Kinloss Council representatives
and a few of the community met
in the Whitechurch Hall. Many
issues were discussed. It was
decided thatthe treasurer have the
books audited and another meeting
be calledin two weeks and if pos-
sible a team join in the play with
those at Lucknow:
