Dear Mr. Thompson,
I received your kind invitation
to attend the Lucknow Reunion,
so sorry I can not be there; noth-
ing would give me greater
pleasure than to meet old friends
on such a wonderful occasion.
We have many .happy memories,
of the four years we spent on the
sixth concession of Kinloss, the
many friends we'made and the
good times enjoyed. I have a
warm feeling in my heart for all
Canadians. Donald and I farmed
on Dave Faulkner's farm, not
many old neighbours left.
I hope the reunion will be a big
success.
My warmest wishes to all.
Respectively yours,
Mrs. Donald J. (Jean)
Low; Encinitas, Calif.

Dear Donald:
Many thanks for your kind invi-
tations to attend the reunion. I
was at the last one , and as soon
as I heard about this year , had
hoped I would be able to attend,
but circumstances .have made it
impossible for me to be present.
I sincerely hope the weather is
favourable. The weather here
has been cold, damp and back-
ward this year. I have been sick
with a very rare and incurable dis-
ease called "Disseminated Lupus
Fsyathematosus" , which -can only
• be controlled by the drug Prid-
nisone which unfortunately has
many side affects one is that it
puffs my face up and thus makes
me look fatter. If any one can
give me any information concern-
ing the treatment , etc. etc. as
Doctors here seem to know very
little, although :I understand 5000
die of it every year in the United
States - I would certainly apprec-
iate -hearing; tr ha,-hirthe' gland`s
in my right leg which are very
painful and I can only walk by the
use of a cane. I have had to sell
my home here and am moving in-
to a suite the end of the month,
so can not get away at this time.
I shall be thinking of you and
Good Luck and Success, as I know
the Old Home Town newer lets
anyone downand you will really
"Roar in 74". /
Kindest regards to everyone.
• Very sincerely,
Mrs. M. E. (Beth Alton)
Sherwin., Winnipeg.
