Dori Thompson,
Chairman Inv. Committee
Lucknow Reunion.
Dear Don
Received your invitation to be
present at the Lucknow Reunion
at the end of.this month. It hard-
ly seems possible that I really
left Lucknow fifty-eight years ago
in May 1916 and I was in uniform
at London training for overseas
in World War I. Enlisted May 8,
1916. •
Here in Brantford we are just
PAGE TWENTY-ONE
in the midst of celebrating the
100th anniversary of the invention
of the Telephone by Alexander
Graham Bell. The first
long distance call was on about
nine miles of wire strung along
the fences from Brantford to Paris,
Ontario, in the year 1874.
However , at present , I want
to thank you and your committee
for the invitation but it is pretty
near impossible to know right now
whether I can be with you all or
not. It would certainly be nice to
meet all old friends again to rem-
inisce, etc.
Yourprogram for the four days
is so full of events that I would
wonder when one is supposed to
sleep.
Wishing everyone a good time,.
good weather., and a successful
reunion.
Enclosed ticket stubs for Bob
Finlay .:
Sincerely,
Clarence MacDonald.
