The. Home Economic classes
from Ripley=Duron Central Public
School, Lucknow Central Public
School and Hillcrest Central Pub-
lic School from Teeswater staged
a fashion show on Monday even-
ing,
ven-ing, June 10. Each girl modelled
a project she had completed that
year. The event was held at the
Lucknow School.
The program began with Stuart
Collyer,' principal of Lucknow
Central • School, welcoming every-
one to the show. Mrs. Alvin Robb,
Home. Economics teacher at Luck-
• now , made remarks about this •
year's sewing classes.
Mrs. Robb announced the win-
ners for the recycling contest.
All the Home Economies classes
took part in this contest. Each
student made a usefularticle' out
of "garbage". The articles
were .divided into different classes,
The winners were:. in the dolls
class., Helen Cook of Ripley; in
the containers class, Marie Mac -
Adam of Teeswater; in the decora-
tion class, Mary Lynn Cayley of
Lucknow; in the .animals class,
Lisa Hill of Teeswater and in the
clothing and cushions class', Mar-
ion Meurs of Ripley. The first
prize went to Jane Messenger of
Ripley for the most original artic-
le.
Each girl modelled 'her skirt,
dress, blouse, slacks, etc. on the
stage which was decorated by the
grade 8 girls of Lucknow.
Each class had it's own commen-
tator as follows: Lucknow , Grade

in her father's' vehicle.
At 4.10 a.m. May 18, Constab-
le Renwick investigated an accid-
ent on Campbell, Street, Lucknow
involving a vehicle operated by
Peter Huston, R. R. 1 Kincardine
and a parked vehicle owned by
Frances Reid , Toronto: resulting in
damage only.

A grade 2 student at St. Cathar-
ines Public School, Darlene Em-
\erson, had in Art work drawn an
eagle. The teacher had sent it
into the children's department of
the Toronto Exhibition. On her
visit here on the week end she
was happy to bring along the
letter announcing the award she
had •received along with a $5
cheque and a ribbon. She was the.
only 'one in the room to receive a
prize.

During the program piano
solos were played by Kathy Forst-
er, Leanne Farrell, Anne Farrell,
all of Ripley; Frankie Renwick,
Donna Ballagh, Jane White, all of
Teeswater and Etta -Belle MacDon-
ald of Luc know .
A flute solo was played by Kath-
ryn McKim accompanied by Edith
Greer on the piano. Both are
from Lucknow.
A gift was presented to Mrs.
Robb by Marion Meurs and Jane
Messenger on behalf of the Ripley
grade 8 class. The program
closed with the singing of 0 Can-
ada accompanied by Barbara Cam
eron of Lucknow on the piano.
The classes from Teeswater and
Ripley are bused to Lucknow once
a week to take Home Economics
and Industrial Arts.
