no better parking facilities

food outlets is a direct slam

Discuss Official Plan For Lucknow
Mac Campbell, director of the
Bruce South Planning Board, at-
tended the regular meeting of
Lucknow Village Council last
week to discuss planning for the
village.
The Lucknow Council is present-
ly seeking proposals from consult-
ing engineers and planners regard-
ing the establishing of an official
plan for the village.
Mr. Campbell had quickly in-
spected the village that evening
and plans were made for he or
someone from his department to
return to Lucknow "in the near
future to inspect the village in a
more detailed manner.
It has been made quite clear by
the Bruce South Planning Board
that each municipality must con-
sider an official plan and zoning
in order to create orderly develop-
mentfor the future, both resid-
ential and commercial.
In summing up; Mr. Campbell
recommended that the village
consider the hiring of a consultant
to prepare an official plan and
that they pass a deeming bylaw
and a restricted area bylaw.
Under a deeming bylaw, a lot
Cannot be automatically sold.
Consent would have to be obtained
from the county land division
committee or the seller would
have to submit a plan of subdiv-
ision.
While the Lucknow Council
plan to secure prices from several
firms of engineers before making
a decision, an estimate presented
at last week's meeting indicated
that the cost for preparing an
official plan for the village was
estimated at $8000 with another
$3000 - $4000 additional for a
zoning bylaw.
