Dear Donald:
Thank you for the invitation to
"Lets Roar In 74".
I made several photo stats of the
invitation and enclosedone in
each letter I wrote to Murdoch
cousins across both Canada and
United States and asked each one
to let all members of their family
know about the Reunion. I stressed
this was the time to visit Lucknow
as other relatives would be corn-
ing, some they may have met
and some not.
My older daughter Gail and my-
self have been working on The
Murdoch Family History,, for close
to five years, have even read
micro film for info. It was just
this past March 1974 that we locat-
ed the family of the; only original
ancestor we did not have on our
records. .
The diary of John Green Murd-
och from 1891 to two days before
his sudden death, in 1915, we have
in our ;possession, and it has been
a' great •help• to us.. .
As you know Don I was married
to Wilfrid and made many trips to
Lucknow and as.a family we spent
several happy holidays on Lake
Huron. Also enjoyed: the Saturday
night on Lucknow Main Street and
the fast ball games when you had
the • "Imports
I am planning, on being at the,
Reunion and perhaps some of my
family. I think I will wear my
1958 name badge, interested to
learn how many others will say, "
"I was there too" . I am sure this
one will be bigger and better, than
the 1958, one and it sure was a, big
success. •
I:notice in the Sentinel that
Mrs. Johnston has not had much
success in billet accommodation.
In my letters to cousins I mention-
ed her name ,-also said there
were several motels in surrounding
area. We have had some West-
ern cousins, also cousins from
down in U.S.A. visit us as a re-
sult of us working on the Murdoch
History. As a matter "of fact
we are,working on other historys,
my families' and Wilfrid'.s moth-
ers history - the Pearls.. Gail and
her husband visited some of her
cousins in Fargo and Moorhead
three years ago while on a trip
through to Salt Lake City.
Many thanks again for the invi-
.tation, and I hope the invitations
I sent out bring several to Luck -
now. They should be interested
to come to the area where their
ancestors settled. We sure have •
enjoyed working on the histories
even scouting the cemeteries for
information.
I did not send any to Sault Ste.
Marie as I feltrelatives in Luck -
now would keep them inform-
ed. I go to business everyday and
have a busy life,
home to look after, lawn•bowl
•from May to October , .3 times a
week and in the winter play bridge
once a week and week ends I visit
by family. °Hope to get down to
Niagara. on Lake to see 2 or 3 of
Shaw Festival plays. New
auditorium is beautiful and we
enjoy the Little Villa Tc and all the
horse cooked .oodics where we
stay.

Dear Bob and members of com-
mittee,
Thanks for the invitation to the
Old Boys and. Girls reunion. I
well remember the other big one.
in ,1910 , in fact I can remember
when Lucknow had, wooden side
walks, also when the first .con-
crete ones. were laid down. The
contractor I think wished he had
never heard of the town between
dogs running over the fresh Gem-
ent and us kids carving our initials
in the last batch poured 'while they
were at supper in the Hotel. As I
lived .on the front street of town,
always had a front seat for all the
going ohs and many I can recall.
My 'two ticket stubs are enclosed
but . I do not hold any hopes on
them as I am one of those who
never win.
Best of luck and weather , I do
not know what days I will be up as
I like to stay off the highways on
week ends.
Very truly yours,
Clyde M. Reid,
' Strathroy .
