The June meeting of Donny-
brook, United Church Women was
held Wednesday night, June 5 at
the home of Mrs. H. Jefferson.
Mrs. Wm. Hardy led the meet-
ing with "God's Garden" as the
theme. Hymn 3 "In the Garden''
from the songs of the Gospeliwas
sung, followed with a reading.
The scripture was taken from ,
Ecclesiastes, chapter 8 by Joan
Armstrong. •Mrs. Hardy read the
meditation on gardens. Hymn
13'O Master let me Walk with
Thee" was sung. Each member
had a reading on 'Father's Day,
followed by the offering and pray-,
er.
Mrs. E. Robinson took the Topic
"Adventures in a Garden", compar-
ing a garden with everyday life.
Business was taken by Mrs. R.
Hanna. A presentation was made
to Mrs. A. Fry, who is leaving
us the end of the month. The :
address was given by Mrs'. J.
Leddy and the presentation by
Mrs. S. Chamney.
Hymn 11 "The, beautiful Garden
of Prayer" was sung followed with
the benediction. A social time
was enjoyed with Mrs. J. Hilde-
brand and Mrs'. R. Hanna assisting
the hostess.
There will be no meetings dur-

Kingsbridge CWL
The June meeting of the St.
Joseph's Catholic Women's League
was held in the, Parish Hall on
June 3:at 8.30' p.m.
Mrs. John Howard presided and
Rev. Ed Dentinger led in prayer.
Mrs. Antone Van Osch led in the
prayer for vocations and stated
thatshe has a few gifts to give out
to parishioners who have celebrat-
ed an anniversary or who have
been married recently.
Mrs. Joe Courtney showed the
new General Proficiency Trophy
presented by the Knights of Colum-
bus. The treasurer's report was
given and correspondence consist-
ing of thank yous from Women's
Inter -Church Council of Canada,
for C.WL. offering-, from B. M.
Ross and Assoc. re The Traffic
Count , and many, from
parishioners of the Parish.
Mrs. Clarence Doherty report-
ed on the dinner catered by. the
League for the teachers, and a
dinner for Mr, and 'Mrs. Fellows of
Goderich, who are celebrating
their fiftieth anniversary on the
week end. 'Volunteers are needed
for the cleaning of the church.
Mrs. Howard reminded members of
the Grade 8 Graduation Banquet
on June 27 and volunteers are
needed for this also.
Roll call was taken and Mrs. •
Mark Dalton reported on the
Guides who will have one more
meeting and then hold their ban-
quet. Mrs. Dalton read an article
concerning Abortions used as Birth
Control Devices, and other items
about this*subject. Mrs. Carl
Riegling gave the Cancer Report
and $767.15 was collected.
Mrs. Joe Courtney reported on
the following: tickets for the
Quilt, the Afghan, and an Alarm
Clock are ready now. 33 boys and
15 girls were confirmed on May 16.
A meeting was held in the school
on May 9 to discuss the Family
Life Program to be taught to
Grades 7 and 8. The C. W.L. res-
olution was passed almost unanim-
ously at the convention. '
Birthday parties were held last
week for Brother Carl and Marie
Austin. Mrs. Howard read a
pamphlet re Nuclear Power. She
welcomed Sister Nellie ,Knoop a
sister, of Tony Knoop.
The meeting was adjourned and
the St. 'Mary's and St. Augustine
Councils joined with Kingsbridge
and the reports on the convention
were given•by Mrs. John Howard
and Mrs. Joe Courtney. Mrs.
Mark Dalton talked about the
Ovulation Method of Natural Birth
Control that was given at the
Convention.
A plant sale was held, by each
league and a draw was held for
an evergreen tree which was won
by Mrs. Hogan of Lucknow. Foll-
owing this lunch was served.

Was .celebrated on:June 9th.
Rev. J. Weir of Kincardine,
who is the interim moderator of
the church., was the minister for
both services. In the•evening
service, Rev. Weir was assisted
.by the student 'minister,* Rich-
ard Sand , who is in charge of the
summer services. • •
Special music was 'presented
by •the choir under the direction,
of, Mrs., Duncan, Simpson.; The
choir sang tWo anthems. A trio:
consisting of Mrs. Melba Park,
Mrs. Shirley Dodds and Nancy • •
Anderson sang "My Lord What A
Morning"and "Close. To the Heart
of Jesus" at the mornirig:service.
Robert Rutledge of Reid's Corners

and "Jesus and Me".The:Con-

St. Augustine CWL
A joint,rneeting between St.
Augustine,'St. Mary's Lucknow
and St., Joseph's Kingsbridge was
held Monday evening; June 3rd.
St. Augustine 's meeting open-
ed with the League prayer, the
president Mrs. Wrn. •Kinahan pres-
iding. Mrs., Joe Hickey gave the
treasurer's report.
Mary Boyle reported that she
had sent a box of used clothing to
St. Vincent De Paul Church life.
Mrs. Gus Redmond reported get -
well cards to Mr. Delbergue and
Jim Leddy and books to Monica
Hebert and Brian Leddy.
It was planned'to hold the
church cleaning on Wednesday of
this. week. The final plans were
made to cater for the Knights of .
Columbus Corninunion breakfast
on Sunday, June 9th. The pres-
ident read a letter concerning the
World Wide publication Recipe
Book. This was 'discussed at some
length.
The meeting was adjourned by
Mrs. Cyril Boyle. Father Denting-
er closed the meeting with prayer.
Following this meeting the re-
port of the Fifty -Fourth Catholic
Women's Lea,gue Con4ention, held
at the Western University, London
May 15 - 16 was given. The
theme of the convention was
Be Doers in Word , Not Heros Only.

County Lodge
Met At Underwood
On Tuesday evening, June 4. the
County Orange Lodge of West
Bruce held their semi -county in
Underwood Orange Hall, County
Master Brother Arthur McCormick
conducting the meeting. There
was a big turn out of Brethern at •
the meeting. They were from
Chesley, Walkerton, Goderich, •
Exeter ,•Ripley, Kincardine and
Underwood.
The highlight of the meeting
was presenting three Jewels.
Brother. Reg Godfrey, Past County ,
Master , presented two fifty year
jewels to Brothers Arthur Rowe
and Albert Tout. •Both Brothers
thanked everyone and wished the
Lodge every success. Brother
Clarence MacLennan, presented
Brother Calvin Smith with a past
county master's jewel.
Brother Smith spoke and thanked
everyone for his term of 'County
Master.
Guest speaker at•the meeting
was Brother Lloyd Hern of Exeter,
Past County Master of South Hur-
on. Brother Hern gave a very
inspiring message. He was thank-
ed by the County Master Brother
McCormick. Other speakers
were Brother Godfrey , Brother
Tout, Brother William Emmerton,
Brother Ed Wilson, Brother Clarke
White , Brother Harold Webster of
Huron County, Brother Rowe and
Brother Smith. All were sorry to
hear Brother Berr Alton is in the
Wingham Hospital and hope that he
will soon be back home. He was
greatly •missed at the meeting.
Brother Alton is a long time mem-
ber of 1044 Maple Grove.
Included in the discussion period
was the annual church service to
be held on July 7 to the Kincardine
Anglican Church. A committee
was named to try to get the July
12 celebration for West Bruce for
1976. It was decided to hold the
annual meeting in the
Kincardine Orange Hall in
November.
Brother McCormick thanked
everyone for turning out and. mak-
ing the meeting such a success.
This meeting was one of the
largest turnouts for a county meet
ing for some time. Brother Mc-
Cormick closed the meeting..
