After registration and luncheon, Ken Reist of Ayton, district direct- or, presided for the meeting. Addresses of welcome were giv- en by Archie Turnbull who filled in for the President of Durham Agricultural Society. He said he was glad all found the right Dur- ham. Harry Crest .,'reeve of Dur- ham, welcomed all to the meet- ing. Robert Gillies, Warden of Grey, brought greetings from the county. Allan Wedow read .the minutes of the Fall meeting. Mrs. Eldred Reid, lady representative for District, 10, spoke about the conven- tion in Toronto. She said every one makes mistakes but no •one lives long enough to make there all. She said the six most im- portant words are: I admit I made a mistake; 5 most important, You did a good job; 4 most important, What is your opinion?;',3 most im- portant , If you please; 2 most im- portant, m-portant, Thank you; 1 most im- portant, We; least important, 1. Ken Reist spoke briefly about the convention. He said it would beheld in the Royal York next year. The Hotel is booked from February 1 -6Th \ 21st for the 1975 convention. He was born at Friesland, Holl- and on February 6, 1900. On April 24, 1924 at Harlinger Holland, he. married Fetje.Van' der Wal. They dad jtist recently cele- brated their 50th wedding anniver- sary with open house for relatives and friends at the .home of their son Wim. Mr. and, Mrs. de Boer 'moved to Canada in the spring of 1954 arid came to the farm near St. Helens, the former Joseph Ayiderson place, where their son Wim now resides. Mr. and Mrs. de Boer retired and moved to Lucknow in 1969. • Besides his wife Mr. de Boer is survived by a family of seven, Peter of R. R.. 2 Teeswater, John of R. R. 5 Lucknow., Dick of R. R. 1 Bluevale, Ieme of Holland. Mrs. Henk (Pietje) •Kragt of Surrey British Columbia, Mts. Derk . 1(Tinie) Logtenberg of R. R. 1 Dungannon, Wim. of R. R. 1 Luck - now; and thirty-two grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister in Holland The funeral service was held ori Tuesday, May 28th at St. Helens United Church where Mr. de Boer was- a member and on the Board of Session. Rev. j. E. Hummel wa's minister. MacKenzie Mem- orial Chapel, Lucknow, was in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were six grandchild- ren, Simon, John, Jim, Cecil, Richard and Ronald de Boer. Flower bearers were, four grand- children, Fred, Donald and Doug- las de Boer and Jerry Logtenberg. Interment was in Greenhill Cem- etery.
