Hospital in London, Ontario. Dur-
ing the war years of 1941-42 she
was a Red Cross instructor. It was
on June '1st , .1942 , following the
untimely death of her husband ,
whom she married in 1934, that •
Mrs: Morrey came to Wingham as
Lady Superintendent for the then
18-bed hospital which was founded
in 1906 by the late Dr. John Ken-
nedy.
Later in 1942 Mrs. Morrey start-
ed a school• for nursing assistants
to ease the shortage of nurses in
the hospital. When the Registered
Nursing Assistant program came
into force under the Hon. Russell
T. Kelly, Minister of Health, this
program was modified to' conform
io that of the Province of Ontario.
In 1969 the school moved into the
present building erected by the
Ontario Hospital Services Com-
mission on the hospital complex.
This provides excellent facilities
for the training Of 24 nursing assist
ants yearly.
Always a firm believer in con-.
tinuing education Mrs. Morrey'
has been instrumental in encour-,
aging many of the staff to partic- •
ipate in the various short courses
and seminars offered. Mrs,
MOrrey has been a member of the
Ontario abspital Association and
the• .Canadian Hospital Association
since 1963. Prior to 1966 when
she was admitted to the American

In his acceptance speech, Mr.

ment's agricultural legislation was
too little too late.
He cited the beef subsidy, pro-
gram as a waste of money be-
cause "shortly after, the price of
beef drOpped the same amount as
the subsidy,"• proving the subsidy
program wasn't needed.
A cattle import quota system
would have been prefaable to the
ban, he said , adding, "we've
got to get along with our neigh-
bours (U.S.) as well as look after
ourselves."
