Week In Ripley the party held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Irwin at Springfield,
P. E.I. At this party the neigh-
bours welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Ir-
win and family. Jackie 'Billy-Jo,
Travis, and Sue to Springfield
and to Prince Edward Island - the
"Garden Province of Canada".

Jim Mc-Rae was home from the
North Bay area this past week end
visiting with'his wife Mrs. Ther-
esa McRae and daughter Debbie,

two weeks Jim has been working
on fiis new home there.

Among those visiting recently
with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Weber,
Mike, Theresa and Tim at their
Malcolm Street home was their
daughter Mary,. Mrs. William
Young of Clinton and infant son.

Last summer Mr. and Mrs. Bur
ton Collins enjoyed a trip to the
Maritimes. In particular Burton
'and Katherine visited Prince Ed-
ward Island and were quite impres-
sed with the farms down there and
the friendly people. It was. al-
most a year ago - Thursday rriorn:-
ing July 12. 1973 at 8.15 a.m.
that Bill Irwin Jr. passed through
Ripley with his brand new tractor
and two brand new bright red wag-
ons with flat racks on his way to
his new home In P.E.I. The trip
was made in seven days according
to Mrs. Irene MacEwen of Stanley
Bridge who has written to Mr. and
Mrs. Collins. Mrs. MacEwen also
enclosed a newspaper clipping of

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Munn and
family from Stoney Creek arrang-
ed a birthday party this past week
for his mother Mrs. Ethel Munn.
Mrs. Ethel Munn, former well
known native of Ripley, now re-
sides at the Blue Water Rest Home
in Zurich, Although along in her
eighties,' she now enjoys good
health and Gordon brought her up
to their Bruce. Beach cottage where
the party was held. - About 30
guests and friends from this area
called in for a lovely visit with
her. A delicious limch and birth-
day cake was served by Mrs. Gord-
on Munn and daughters Barbara ,
and Roberta. Everyone in the
Ripley area extends best wishes
and congratulations to Mrs. Munn
on this occasion.

In a news article entitled "Crys.

the Wednesday edition of the
Stoney Creek News, was an,ac-
count of a slide show presented by
Henry Down of Stoney Creek to
the Brantford/Lapidary and Miner-
al Club. It states that Mr. Down
showed pictures. Of collecting
areas and geological features of
nearby areas to Hamilton and
Brantford. A collection of crystals
he has found in local quarries is
on display in the Redhill Library,
Eastgate. Henry has taken a keen
interest in this hobby since retir-
ing from the staff of the mathema -
tics department at Saltfleet High
School. Gordon Munn, fort:1164y

ment. Prior to entering high
school teaching Henry was.4

Mrs. Allan Coiling of Ripley, now
employed in London, underwent
surgical treatment there this past
week. Mrs. Howard Thompson of
the Purple Grove area •was down to
London to be with John D. - her
grandson, at the time.

Mr. and Mrs. Nefson Hodgins of
Ripley , has now taken Mrs. Allan
Irwin's position as assistant to
