On Wednesday evening a family
dinner was held in the St. Helens
Hall in honour of Mr. and Mrs.
Symond de Boer on the occasion
of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Those attending , from a distance
were Mrs. 'Hank Kragt , of Surrey,
B.C. and Dr. and Mrs.. -G. S.
van Dorp of Den Haag, Holland
along with the other members of
their family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Oscar White returned home
on Saturday evening after spend-
ing about ten days visiting with
her daughter and family, Mrs.
Leda Nelson of Wawa. Miss May
White accompanied her mother

David Rigg and family of Orillia.
Good fortune awaited Mrs. White
when she returned home. Appar-
ently she left a rather expensive
radio on the bus, when they , got off
in. Toronto to change buses to'
Wawa. 'Although she never ex-
pected to ever' get it back, she
phoned the bus company when
they returned home, and thanks to
the honesty of people it was
found and is safe at,the depot.

North Ashfield School had a.
very successful Open House. on
Tuesday evening when Mrs. Mac-
Charles and Mrs... Mowbray were
hostesses displaying pupils' pro-
jects , art ,-crafts, and workbooks.
Children's autobiography and
limericks were enjoyed. Mrs.
Ritchie and Mrs. Simpson and
Grade 5 and 6 girls assisted in
entertaining parents. Coffee and
cookies'were served to the guests.
Everyone enjoyed a pleasant visit ,
to the school.

field Presbyterian Churches. Mr.
Bryce was the minister last Sun-
day. Both young men are stud-
ents of Knox College , Toronto.
SUFFERED INJURIES
This community was sorry to
hear the news that Miss •Sharon
Coiling had the misfortune of
breaking both her ankles and is
in hospital in London. Apparent-
ly the home in which Sharon was
living along with 4:or 5 other
girls caught fire and the girls had
to jump from an npstairs window
to escape.' Sharon is the daugh-
ter of Mrs. Melvin Coiling of
Ripley. Our best wishes for a
speedy recovery.
