Their selections included "Somewhere a Child"; "The Papaya Tree"; "Love Me Tender"; "Today"; "Bless 'em All".; "Bells of St. Marys"; and "Amazing Grace". This year dancing was, included in the pro- gram as "The Olds Folks" , Dianne MacKay and carmon Courtney recollected the good or days in the area. Mrs: Dorothy Needham deserves a'great deal of-credit as• she taught the various dance routines. .The R.D.S. dancers in- cluded Saridy Pollock and Kim Farrell; Kathy Farrell and Ken MacKay; Gail Messenger and Mike Gallant; Roy Ferguson and Mary Needham; Julie Reeves and Brian MacKay; Carol MacKay and Bob Campbell; Carl Stanley and Margie Collins; Andy Conlas 'and Joan Courtney and Donna Gallant, Priscilla Zipfel Mary Jane Court- ney, Wendy Hamilton, Ardis Nicholson and •Debbie Beard. N N N N THIE GREATEST SHOW 'ON EARTH Anyone who missed R.D.S,'s variety concert, certainly was deprived of some great talent. The concert , which wasteld on April 25 and 26, met full houses on both nights. A great deal of credit is due to the following in- dividuals who sacrificed their, valuable time and effort in order to make the shg'w an . overwhelming success. These in- cltide_Debbie Tranter, Sally Elliott, Sally Harrison, Miss Jean Campbell, Mr. George Arm- • strong, Janice Reeves, Mrs. Dor- othy Needham and the students who looked after the lighting and sound equipment. Prior to. the opening numbers• of the concert , Gail Messenger , Greg Liddle, Kerry Boyle , Ken ,MacKay and Jane Anne Colling provided the musical prelude R. D. S . presid-, ent Gail Messenger welcomed the capacity crowds that filled' the school both nights. • The Mass Choir sang." Song Sung Blue" and "Top of the World: Priscillia Zipfel introduced the well-known celebrity Stompirr' Tom Connors, alias Robert Cal- quhoun. A Level V student, Barry Pollock, sang "How Great Thou Art" accompanied bye' Sally Harrison at the piano. "Let's Make a Deal" , the popular TV show , was presented by Janice Reeves and Nancy McGuire and a host of enthusiastic supporters. Brookside School Spring concert again' provided a splendid program for a large audience on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Henderson from MisSissauga visited' for sev'er- al days with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Alton and with Mrs. ,Garnet Hend- erson in Lucknow. On their return they Were accompanied by their niece, Marsha Alton, whoenjoy- ed the Week end with her cousins. On Saturday'a successful auction sale was held clearing the estate of the .late Jim Little. The six- room, stucco home was, purchased. by Gary Courtney, R. R. if 1 Dun- gannon and Douwe Wilts of R. R, Londesboro,, both of whom are employed as carpenters at Man- ' ning's in Blyth. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Pannabecker and two small children have mov- ed to Goderidh., They will be missed from our community. To their farm Mr. and Mrs. Mose Jane Ann Coiling. Following the intermission, the Drama Club presented the play entitled "No Boys Allowed". The actors and actresses included Nancy McGuire, Arlene Tranter, Carol MacKay, Ken McLeod., Barry Marshall,, Debbie Beard, -Sally Harrison, Patti MacDonald, Julie Reeves, Bill Farrell, Robert Colquhoun, Bob .Campbell and Mary Needham. Janice Reeves was the play's director and Mr. George Armstrong acted as the . !staff advisor. The props crew in- cluded Bruce Nicholson, Sally Elliott and Patti MadDonald while Kim Farrell, Debbie Trant- er and Kathy Farrell looked after the ma ke -up .
