A clearing auction sale, for.the
estate' of the late Roy McGuire was
held last Thursday afternoon at his
former home on Tain Street with
Grant McDonald auctioneer.

SUFFERED HAND INJURY
We'are sorry to report that Mrs..„
Bill Shaw suffereda badly cut
hand and had to be taken to Vic-
toria Hospital, LOndon, where
she was cared foe and was able to
return,home, where shels now
convalescing. Mr. Frank Maulden
accompanied them to London.

Happy Hearts Host
Town and Country
Lucknow Club
On April 19th ,• the Happy
Hearts Club of Ripley entertained
the Town and Country Club of
Lucknow. The hostess, Mrs. Loy-
ell Huston, greeted everyone at
the door. The program commit-
tee , Mrs. Adeline Martyn, Miss
Christene Robertson and Ab Tout
was assisted' by the Directors.
There were 31 tables of euchre
and 3 tables iof other -games at the
Public School auditoriurn. The.
Lucknow people came by bus and
4 cars. We were so happy to see
so many people turn out, about
140 in all., The prize winners
were Sadie Hamilton and Walter,
Alton, both of Lucknow. Prizes
were given for lucky chair and
birthdays nearest date to April
19th. A sing song. followed led ,.
by Reg Moore who was also Master
of ceremonies.' Lunch was served
with Mrs. John Wylds, in charge,
assisted by many other ladies and
the men passed' the tea trays.
