LANGSIDE
Intended 'for last week
The sixth concession west 'of
Culross held their annual party in
the Langside community centre
with nine 'tables of cards
in play. Mrs. Graham Moffat
and Donald Green received high
prizes with Mrs.. Donald Green
and Ralph Thompson receiving
low. It was decided to hold 'an-
other one next year.
LANGSIDE W. M. S.
Five ladies were present for the
first meeting 'of 1974 of the Lang-
side W. M.S. The meeting open-
ed with hymn singing. Mrs. Vis-
ser read the scripture. Mrs. Jim
Young gave 'the meditation *Pro-
grams vs Spiritual Power'. Mrs.
de Boer led in prayer.
Mrs. Bregman gave the topic
on the word 'Power' by. leading a
Bible study on the word 'Power'.
The meeting' closed with the
hymn 'How firm a foundation'.
A delicious lunch was served by
the hostess, Mrs. Robert Bregman.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Struthers,
Sharon and Cindy were Sunday
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Young-and family.
Sandra and 'Greg Gardner of.
Lucknow visited their grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Young
during the holidays.
Mrs. Gertrude Tiffin of Wing-

Several people from the Lang -
side area enjoyed the play 'Every -
body's Crazy' in the Lucknow
School Saturday evening put on by
the Lucknow Agricultural Society.
Mrs. Philip' Steer and Mrs. Don
Bell were two of the characters.

The regular Bard party, was held
Friday evening in the Langside
Hall with two table's of cards in
play. Anothei one is to be held
in two weeks.
Dies From
Accident Injuries
JOHN J. WILSON ,
Jqlm James (Jack) Wilson of
20 Doreen Court , Hamilton, pas-
sed away in Hamilton General
Hospital on Friday, March 22nd,
He was 47.
Jack was critically injured in a
car accident in, that city on Jan-
uary 2nd and had been hospitaliz-
ed -since that time.
He was born on 'January 13',
1926 the youngest son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. 'Olin Wilson of.
Lucknow , where 'he spent his
youth. He later went to Hamil-
ton, where he was arr employee •
of the Steel Company 'of Canada
for twenty-one years.
In December. 1949 he married
Norma Ritchie, daughter of Mrs.
James .Ritchie and the late' Mr.
Ritchie , also of Lucknow.
Besides his wife Norma he is
survived by a son. John and a
daughter Susan , ;both at home;
two brothers, NorMan of Hamil-
ton and Armstrong ofLucknow and
one sister Mrs. Jim (Celia) Aitch;.

The remains rested at the Mat-
latt• Funeral Home, Hamilton
with funeral service held in the
Chapel at 3 p.m,. on Monday
March 25th. Minister was Reit.
George Saunders of Emmanuel
United Church.
Interment was in Woodland
Cemetery.,
Pallbearers were Arthur Mooney,
Jack Lounti Lorne Garland', Harold
McCollow , Vernon Elliott and
Ken Jardine.

to the club and Melba Gray, Kin-
ette national executive, present-
ed the national bannerette.
Ken Taylor of the Lucknow Kins
men proposed a toast to the Kin-
ettes and this was replied to by
Donna Johnstone, club president.
Marianna Porter expressed •
thanks to the caterers, the Angli-
can Churchladies, and Mrs. Clare
Johnstone responded on their be- •
half. ,
The closing remarks were given
by chairman. Anne Gammageand
the remainder of the evening Was
spent in dancing:
Draws were held diiring the
evening with first prize being an
Olympic Lottery ticket which was
won by a visiting Kinsmen. Sec-
ond prize of 2 dinners at Turnberry •
Tavern was won by Don Thomp-
son. Third and fourth prizes of
wine were won by a visiting Kins-
men and Lucknow Kinsmen Fred
Flanagan..
