Winter has returned with a white
blanket of snow through the hours
of darkness on Saturday morning.
Since then cold winds, and low '
temperatures showed that it was
still the winter season. Well,
looking at the calendar from last
Saturday back, it was six weeks
to February 2 - remember that it
was a morning of bright sunshine
and,that Bervie groundhog, but
long enough to get its picture tak-
en, by tradition, was to go back
for another six weeks of winter.

two blocks east of Ripley on the •
road to Holyrood. It was at the
former Kenny MacKenzie-farm .on
the east side of sideroad number_

Elmer Pollard with Mr. and Mrs,.
Rhody and family living in
the house. Sparks blown from rub-

and the, flames were soon beyond
control. 'They spread .and
ignited' a log shed possibly the

Lloyd Wylds drove the new tanker
