spring weather and warmth Harry
Scott took his first walk outside
this year on last Wednesday. With
the aid of a light metal walker
and a rest at Frank Zipfel's gar-
age , Harry made it all, the way
up to George McLean's store a
distance of three blocks from Mrs.
Amelia MacLeod's house, where
he resides.. Up at the store Harry
visited with George, Joy and Mts.
Jen'ny MacLean, Dave Murray,
Ilarord Thompson and others. All
were .glad, to see Harry who has
been confined to the house since
last fall.
Last Tuesday Mr. and Mrs.
Allan Ward of Burks Falls visited
in Ripley with her daughter Mrs. '
Carol Fludder, Tammy and Jason.
They were here to attend the fun-
eral of the late Harold Collins in
Kincardine
Miss Mary Anne MacTavish,
daughter`of and Mrs. Allan
MacTavish on the second conces-
sion west of Olivet ,' joined with
.Mrs. Gladys Cameron at'her home
in Ripley in full time hair styling'
and dressing. Mary Anne is a
recent graduate,of the Marvel-
Hair Dressing School in London.
Another sign that winter is just
about over was the holding of the
Open House Display for the Night .
School classes of the Ripley Dist-
rict School. There was a good
attendance at the event last Thurs-
day evening in the high school
auditorium.
Late in the afternoon Mrs. Marg-
, ar' et Gemmell, assisted by Mrs.
Carol Fludder and Mrs. Joan Mac-
Leod decorated the high school
stage with coloured flowers for the
evening fashien show.. Teachers i
the other classes placed their dis-
plays along the auditorium walls.
Shortly after eight in the even-
ing 'Principal William TurVill
welcomed those in attendance and
called on Mrs. Matgaret Gernmell
Mrs. Gemmell, seated at a desk
on the stage, was the
commentator. of the 'Fashion Show.
In this show members of her seW-.
ing, class, along with their Child-
ren, modelled the many colorful
and stylish articles of wear which
they had sewn at the weekly 'night
classeS. Leading the parade was-

Tammy carrying her ,doll follow-
ed by Mrs. Ilene Clark and daugh-
ters, then Mrs. June Dietrich and
Chucky. From there it was a
long line of ladies and children
displaying dresses, pant suits,,
steep wear, children's Clothes,
slacks jumpers and:coati. Mrs.
June Dietrich displayed a loVely
Comforter which she made, Mrs.
Barbara Gamble a dark greenish
-suit, Mrs. Joan MacLeod a deep
rose ,spun rayon housecoat and-the.
