MARK JOHNSTON
Mark Leonard Johnston of Luck-
now passed away in Wingham
and. District Hospital on Saturday.,
February 23rd in his 83rd. year.
His death followed a lengthy ill— n
He was born at Holyrood on
September 9, 1891, a son of James.
Johnston and Margaret Boyle.
On March .8; 1916 at Lucknow
he married Mary Conley.
Mr. Johnston farmed ,for 50.
years on concession $„ Kinloss
ToWnship, west of Holyrood, and
then retired to Lucknow, where he
and Mrs. Johnston resided in the
Ezra Stanley Apartrnents on Rims
Street.

On February 22, the Grade 5
class of Kinloss Central Public
School held assembly.
Brian Murray was the announcer.
We started with O Canada. Murray
Gilchrist read the bible story. We
said the Lord's Prayer and sang
two hymns. •
The first play was Hansel and
Gretal with Dianne Bushell,
Charlie Hodgins, Ivonne Harte-
mink , Jeannette Duiker , Lori
Symes and Bonnie Hall.

Mr. Johnston is survived by his
wife, three sons and four daugh-
ters, Cliff Johnston of Holywood,
Mrs. Maurice (Vera) Hodgins of
London, Mrs. Percy (Jean) Dey-
ell of Wingham, Mrs. Donald
(Mary) Martin-of Whitechurch,
Mrs. Bert (Doris) Moss of Auburn,
Lloyd Johnston of Holyrood,..
Wayne Johnston of Mississauga;
24 grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two
sons Everette and Keith Johnston.
4' Mr. Johnston was an elder of
Kirilough Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service was held on'
TueSday; February 26th at Mac-
Kenzie Memorial Chapel'Luck -

Wingham wis minister.
Pallbearers were six grandsons,
Ellwood Hodgins, Bob Johnston,
Tom Deyell, Jim Moss, Wayne
Martin and Lenny Johnston.

loss United Church Pioneer Girls in
the Kinloss Hall Friday evening.
