If for growing food is .used

gricultural land left in another,
years ..This however doesn't
eem of much concern. to many in
our society. The inayOr of Sarnia

mportaht to have broader 'assess-
elit base for his city. He shoots
ff telpgrarns to governments to

ttract more, industry. This in
urn will necessitate more resident.

ttract more industry to• keep the

Team Points: Foxes 4, Wolver-
lagoon.. Later it will turn out that
a lagoon is not' big enough and a
treatment plant will, be needed
anyway. We seethis in Petrolia
where they have dug holes in our
fobd producing base and now they
find our that a treatment plant is
necessary. The same is happening
in Exeter. I'm told. Town fathers
who,are contemplating a sewage
system will do well to see if it is
worth it to take food producing
land and. still have,, to start a'prant
in a few years . ,Lagoons help
increase food prices in an 'infit
infinitesimal 'Way and in the
long run ,waste taxpayers money.
Hydro transmission lines are
still tnoth'er example. Why not
run them ov,er the poorest land
and through swamps?' Sure', the
initial cost will be higher, but
the long run cost can't be
theasured. If We are to export
electricity to the U.S. , why not
build the power plants close to the
border so fodd producing land is
least disturbed?
Planning' reports art foi 9510
devoted to urban planning. As an
afterthought a page is used for
farm planning. And this when focid
prices are incr&asing at a fearful
rate. It sure balfles me.
