Council Minutes
Huron Township Council met on.
February 4th with all members
present. The Ministry,of Agricult-
ure' and Food announced, that they
will be administering the Farm
Tile Drain Debentures as of Feb-
ruary 1. This was handled by the
Ministry of Treasury and Econom-
ics before.
M. M. Dillon Ltd. asked for a
meeting with the Council to
discuss the Impact Study regarding
Ontario Hydro's effects on the
Municipality. .
A. request' for supplementary
money was made to the
4epar,trnent of Transportation and
-ComMunications in the amount of
$55 ,400. This is to construct 'a
new bridge on sideroad 10 between
Concessions 5 and 6.
An application was sent to the
Ontario Municipal "Board for app-
roval -of the, issue of Debentures to
help finance the proposed new
Recreation Complex.
A request was sent to the: County
of Bruce asking the speed limit to
be raised on Concession 8, East of
Ripley to Holyrood from 50 to 60
miles per hour.
N. J. (Sam) MacGregor and Mrs:
W. J. Bell were appointed to the
RecreatiOn Committee to
represent the' lakefront area of the
Township.
The Clerk was asked to advertise
for a Building Inspector and Trail-
er By-law enforcement Officex.
Township accounts of $4,394.50
Road accounts of $6,787.58 and
Tile Drain loans of $5,000. 60
were ordered paid.
Next regular meeting will, be
February l8 and March 4th.

The junior and senior band play-
ed a couple of ambers for the
Friday assembly. Some of the
selections were Fiddler on the
Roof, _Music-man, Trombone
BOogie. and Cascades.- They are
• getting into practice for, the band
concert and tour,
JUNIOR FLOOR HOCKEY
Playoffs have been completed,.
Paul Finlay's team were the
champions. Runner-up .was Greg
Gardiner's team.
GRADE 6 '
Grade 6 are constructing and
putting 'up a mobile of the sun and
the planets. The planets are in
the order they come from the sun.
The size of the planets are in the
correct proportion to ' the size of
the sun.
GRADE 8
Grade 8 class had a visitor, Mr.
Forest from F.E. Madill Second-
ary School in Wingham. He gave
us' books'and application forms
for high school.' Mr. S. Mowry
came' from Kincardine High
School to talk to the students who
will attend that school this fall.
He also, gave out forms and books.
Mr. •Forest and Mr. Phillips came
to talk with parents and students
who will go to Wingham High
School. We all hope we will make
it to high school next year.

the serious condition' of Jack
Wilson.

Mr.:Oliver Mabee of Markdale
was a week-end guest with Mr.
and Mrs. Frank MacKenzie, He
and Frank were former classmates
over thirty years ago at Guelph
and met again recently at a Sheep
Meeting in Hanover. Mr. Mabee
has been an Agriculturist Mission-
ary for many years in Malaysia ,
Ecquiclor, , Newfoundland and
other countries.
The Junior Choir under the dir-
ection of Mrs. Lorne Sparks and
Mrs. Don Bell formed the choir
for the church service at South
Kinloss on Sunday. Mr. Noble is
spending the next ten days at a
Study Session in Vancouver ,
B.C. On February there, will be
a joint service in Lucknow Presby-
terian Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug MacKay of
Linwood, David Keith of Tees-
water , Miss Emily Sheyne of
Guelph, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn
Walden and Mr. and Mrs. Warren
Zinn visited Saturday evening at
the home Of Mr. and Mrs. Evan
Keith. They enjoyed viewing
slides of the trip they all were on
to' California during Christmas
vacation.
