NEW VIDEO TAPE MACHINE
Otir school has just received' '
their own brand new video tape
machine for viewing television
shows. These programs are shown
on regular television at rimes not
convenient for school viewing.
For this reason they are taped at
Chesley and are' available to all
schools in the area equipped with
the machine. Grade 8 was privil-
eged to seethe first show in lib-
rary class on Thursday , when we
watched a question and answer
program with Farley Mowat being
interviewed by junior high school
students.
ESSAYS AND POETRY WINNERS
Some students of Lucknow
School sent poetry and essays to ` •
the Lucknow Canadian Legion on
the Remembrance Day theme.
The winners for the essays were
Donald Ritchie , Margaret Mac- •
Intyre and Janice Van Stempvoort.
In the, poetry - Grant Gilchrist
received a second. All other
entries received a prize. Donald
Ritchie also received third prize
in the zone finals.

The January meeting Was held
at the home of Mrs: Virden Mow-
bray , Lucknow , and opened by
the President Mrs. Clarence Rit-
chie with the singing of 'the Ode
and repeating of the Mary Stew-
art Collect4n unison.
The Officers Conference will
be held April 30th and May land
2 at. University of Waterloo. The
president Mrs. Clarence Ritchie
was appointed a delegate to
attend, Mrs. Jim Mkt , alternate.
`4 Take a Look at Yourself" is,
the 4-H course for this winter.
Mrs. Bill Haldenby and Mrs. Leon
and Clarke volunteered as lead-
ers. A donation is to be seht to

' Reports of Standing Committees
were given. The roll call was
answered - Name something new
in textiles and show a, sample.
This was followed 'by a panel on
Labelling of fabrics and garments
for washing care, Mrs. Cliff Roul-
ston, Mrs. Ira Dickie and Mrs.
Harry Lavis taking part".
A solo by Mrs. Philip Steer
"Mothers" accompanied by
Mrs. Leonard Clarke was much. en-
joyed. The 4-H put on their skit
which they had for the course
"Bedr -vm Accessories". A piano
solo by Mrs. Leonard
Clark was' enjoyed . Wilma played.
"Flow Gently Sweet Afton" and
"All Through the Night", Songs
of Bobby Burns.
Courtesy remarks were given'
by Mrs. George Young, followed
by the singing of 0 Canada and
the Grace. Lunch was served by
the hostess Mrs. Virdin Mowbray
and Mrs. George Young. "--\

On Friday February 1, the Luck-
now Legion Public Speaking con-
test was held in 'the auditorium.
The winners in the junior section

Linda Moulton. In the senior
section Marilyn 'Rhody was first,
'Kathryn McKim second and
Debbie Searle and Chuck Hunting-
ton tied for third. The judges for -
