Here are some supporting figur- es, 'figures that , are ayailable to Mrs. Brechin. In August 1973 the egg' producer had a profit margin of 4.50 doz. Price to Ontario, producers 68-700 doz. US price 76-'820 doz. On January 8, 1974, because of lower feed cost, the production cost dropped by 2,4¢ doz. , the profit dropped to 2.1¢ doz. and the price set by the board to the producer dropped 6C, doz..to 630. This is still 100 be- low the US price, where they have none of Marion's hated marketing boards. Her claim then that the price didn't come down after feed. costs drb.pped off somewhat is also false, as you can see in the above fig- ures . That they didn't drop back to a loss level is only fair to the egg producer and I can't think of any who will dispute this. So yon see folks that even smart and dedicated people as Mis. Mar. ion B. cannot always bedepend- ent upon to .give both sides an' equal. hearing. • Have you entered your rink yet for the annual Kincardine- Ripley days at Ripley, on Sat- urday, January 26th, and in Kin- "catdine , on Saturday, February 2nd? - - Congratulations to the area rink, which successfully captured the - Bruce County Junior. Farmers Trophy on display at the local club! You are reminded to sign up as soon as possible for the Sweetheart bonspiel to be held on Saturday, February 9th. - — On January 16th, Jean Wykis, with her rink of Marie MacDon- ald , Joyce Courtney and Barbara Paquette captured second prize in the 11 o'clock draw at the Walker- ton Ladies bonspiel.. INSTIN FOR SURVIVAL 4:444.:440 At last , after more than 25" years of discrimination by do5tors against meat , truth is cornitig out. Last year a less well known US doctor spoke out against' his colleages for linking 'meat and cholesterol and heart disease. Now no less than Dr. Wm.' C. Sherman of the National Food and Health Agency (USA) says that new research has proven that there is no relationship between meat eating and heart disease.
